Interview with #DIGClash player iAmJP

Mon 24th Sep 2018 - 6:14pm

Following the amazing reverse sweeps that he pulled off against G2 and Team Liquid we decided that we should interview Joan 'iAmJP' Pey Rodríguez, the golden boy of #DIGClash, for a second time.

#DIGClash are as of writing this interview currently 4-4 in the European region of the CRL, with 4 more weeks to go there is still a long road ahead of them! This time we asked iAmJP about his nerves, post-thoughts on the incredible performance that he showed on KOTH against both these teams and the season ahead of him and his squad.

How do you feel about the first week of CRL?

iAmJP: Very nervous, since it was my first team competition and I wanted to do very well.

Did the help of Coach Ben and Analyst Ender make a difference preparing for the CRL?

iAmJP: Without a doubt. Without them we would not have been able to win, they are the piece that makes the teamwork.

What did you think about the second match coming into the CRL versus team SK?

iAmJP: A blow of confidence and incredible strength to lift the spirits of the first game, we needed it.

Did you learn anything from the match against Misfits?

iAmJP: You can always learn something from all your matches, so no doubt.

The last match for Team Dignitas this week was against TL, Max and Juanka were defeated in KOH after which you managed to make an amazing comeback winning the match for Team Dignitas. How did you feel?

iAmJP: I was sad to lose the 1v1, but very happy to be able to help my team win against three big Liquid players. Happy to move on.

How did the rest of the team respond to you winning 3 games in a row?

iAmJP: In the best way possible! Luckily, I have some great teammates that will always support each other whatever happens and give it their all.

Do you like the current format of the CRL?

iAmJP: Yes, I like it a lot, but I would like the matches to be longer, like in the Chinese CRL.

With many CRL players coming from Spain, does this make you feel more pressured?

iAmJP: Pressure would not be the word, I feel a kind of healthy rivalry. I love that there are many Spanish players and with such a high skill level.

Last time we spoke you mentioned you had mixed feelings about moving into the gaming house, saying you’re excited about the opportunity but you’ll miss your family. How has the experience been so far?

iAmJP: As I said, I'm very happy for the opportunity and to be honest, it's a different but nice experience to live like this. Hopefully it will last a long time.

What are your thoughts about the long season that’s ahead?

iAmJP: I think there is a lot of the league left to be played. We can show even more than we already have and demonstrate what we are capable of. Let's go for the TOP 4, #DIGWIN.

That concludes this interview with star-player iAmJP, we wish him and his squad the best of luck in the next 4 weeks. We also want to thank him for taking the time to answer these questions and we'll be following the #DIGClash squad closely as they fight for that top 4 in their region.
