Interview with Uncivil on the release of FACEIT PUBG
It's been quite silent in the PUBG esports environment since all of the LAN and online finals were held in the Summer, but it all changed when FACEIT joined the PUBG fray! For people unfamiliar with FACEIT and Counter-Strike esports, FACEIT is a third party client that adds leaderboards and strives for improved queues at all skill levels.
With this important addition to the competitive scene within PUBG, we decided to speak with Uncivil and find out his thoughts on the matter.

Hi Uncivil, how has your experience in PUBG been post-PGI?
Uncivil: It has been a personal grind for myself. The drive to get better to reach that tournament in the future is my only focus.
FACEIT revealed their own client not too long ago. What did you think of it at first?
Uncivil: I think it was a great addition to PUBG competitive and it will thrive.
Did the open beta surprise you at all?
Uncivil: No, I think they nailed it on the head and should become one of the biggest factors in the competitive scene.
You’ve been playing FACEIT on stream quite frequently. What does the normal queue lack compared to the FACEIT system?
Uncivil: Competitiveness. Normal queues just simply are hotdrop and repeat... I think with the coming leaderboard system, it could change that, though we shall see.
What aspect of FACEIT can be improved upon?
Uncivil: I think the biggest aspect FACEIT needs to work on is growing the North American scene's numbers. It's currently really low.
Will aspiring professional players be able to get recognized faster?
Uncivil: It should be a perfect way for players to showcase their skills and compare themselves to other pro players. It will take a lot more than grinding FACEIT to make it, though... it is a good start.
Are you concerned that this will divide PUBGs playerbase?
Uncivil: It shouldn't be a big deal. I think we have enough players that play the game for fun and also maybe want to try and make it as a competitive player.
Hotdrop.gg was a very popular competitive alternative to normal queues. Why did it not succeed like FACEIT has?
Uncivil: The idea was great, I just think that Hotdrop.gg didn't have the backing that FACEIT has and it had less support staff, so that is the reason it never took off.
Are other third party competitors a possible threat towards FACEIT and the normal PUBG queue?
Uncivil: No, not at all. I think FACEIT will thrive as the biggest third party system out there.
Do you think that third party queues are what PUBG needs most?
Uncivil: I think to get the best competitive gameplay, yes.
With Fortnite blowing up earlier this year, how do you compare the two when it comes to their competitive nature?
Uncivil: I think Fortnite is more looked at as an entertaining game, not as competitive, so it's really hard to compare the two. I think they both require different skill sets to be super successful at.
Any closing words to finish off this interview?
Uncivil: I would like to thank my fans for showing support via Twitch recently. It has been really fun interacting with you guys and answering all the questions you may have had. AND I promise I will stream more <3. Thanks everyone! Also, as always, thank you to Team Dignitas and our sponsors!

That finishes up our interview with Uncivil. We would like to thank him for taking his time answering our questions. Uncivil plays FACEIT whenever he's able to so make sure to drop him a follow over on his Twitter or his Twitch Channel!
