Interview with Uncivil: Sanhok
Recently Sanhok got released and PUBG fans all over the world received a new way to experience PUBG with a smaller 4x4kms map. With PUBG making more maps and exclusive content for those maps, there may be some speed bumps on the way there. With large tournaments coming up for Sanhok like Twitch Rivals and GLL Wingman Series Duos, we decided to ask our very own Timothy "Uncivil" Ebarb about his opinion on Sanhok, different map sizes compared to the standard 8x8kms, and the different strategies that we may see uncovered!

What addition that came with the new map, Sanhok, were you most excited for?
Uncivil: The map size is the most exciting aspect of the new map. It gives players a non-stop action-packed thrill from start to finish!
What do you think about the smaller size of the map?
Uncivil: I think it allows people to have fun with friends and it also gives you the opportunity to "hot drop", so there aren't any long periods of dead gameplay.
Should PUBG Corp. continue experimenting with different map sizes?
Uncivil: I think that would be a wonderful idea. This game is all about adapting to surroundings, so bring on more map sizes!
What’s the most important aspect of a map for you?
Uncivil: The most important aspect of the map for me is the fact that you don't need vehicles to be successful. Just run and shoot!
Do you like any part of Sanhok in particular?
Uncivil: Bootcamp is an insane way to work on 1v1's and also to work on the mental side of your approach with so many ways a fight could end inside the camp!
Have the developers learned from their previous mistakes on Miramar?
Uncivil: It's really too early to tell. I think Miramar has actually gotten worse with the recent update on compounds surrounding the map for competitive play at least. Hopefully, Sanhok will stay the same, it's near perfect!
What method of travelling to different parts of Sanhok do you prefer?
Uncivil: Run and Gun is the only way The Civ Man goes.
Will different weapon strategies be used on Sanhok compared to Erangel?
Uncivil: I feel like less 5.56 rifles would be needed due to the lack of vision on the map. I would much rather have an AKM with a DMR/sniper rifle.
Does Sanhok have the same competitive potential as Erangel?
Uncivil: I don't believe so, just due to the lack of vision on the map. It would almost be a competitive nightmare for 16/20 pro teams to be running around Sanhok.
What do you think about maps getting their own unique weapons/vehicles?
Uncivil: I don't like the weapons being map dependent due to the fact that if I want to play a map and use my favorite gun, I should be able to. Vehicles can be map dependent due to terrain differences.
Can they still improve upon Sanhok?
Uncivil: I think small changes can be made to make the map more competitive in the aspect of pro play but for now I think it's great! Great job, PUBG Corp.
What type of map would you like to see next?
Uncivil: I am super excited to see the new snow map they teased at E3! Should be insane to see what they bring to the table! WINTER IS COMING!
