Team Dignitas Featured Streamer Spotlight: Ellektrikk

How did you come to get involved with Team Dignitas?

EllektrikkWell I actually started off as a writer about a year ago. Team Dignitas has always been my favorite organization so when I got the opportunity from Sui to write for them I was super excited to get involved, despite not being a good writer. I wrote an opinion article called "The Stereotypes of League of Legends" and that was the first and only one I wrote. I never became an official writer or anything like that. That was the last of my involvement for some time. On December 14th of 2014 I started streaming and at some point Sui watched my stream and messaged me asking what I wanted to do for a living. I told him I wanted to do something I loved and that I loved video games. After I mentioned that, him and ODEE sent me a contract for Team Dignitas and they signed me!

What sort of Impact has working with an E-sports team made on your content?

Ellektrikk: It has made a huge impact. I was only streaming for about 3-4 weeks before I became a Team Dignitas streamer. I really didn't have that much experience on my own so being a part of Team Dignitas really reassured me that I was important enough to really try. It has really given me the confidence to keep streaming. When I first started I was only pulling 30-40 viewers per stream that would ocassionally spike to 60. Partnering with Team Dignitas gave my stream the credibility for people to think that I was worth watching.

Did you ever think that your content would be backed by something like this?

Ellektrikk: I stream Pokemon, let's be honest. I am not a 'pro quality' gamer in any way. I NEVER thought I was going to be approached by a gaming company. Least of all a pro gaming company that has a presence across several games. I was honestly very shocked.

What can you tell us about the relationship you have with the team?

Ellektrikk: I love the staff and I love to poke my nose in everywhere. I go in the Teamspeak a lot, talk to Odee a lot, and talk on the Team Dignitas chat. I try to network as much as I can because I would hate to be part of an organization without having friendships within it. I really love the team in general. There are a lot of great people involved. If I am having a bad day I will get mulitple messages from people asking if I am okay, and if I feel my gaming needs are taken care of. If I feel insignificant in the company, they hop on that to help me 100%.

Are there any perks to working with a team, and if so what are they?

Ellektrikk: There are a lot of them! If I had to tell you the big ones here they are. Most importantly I will never have to buy equipment again. I am part of my favorite organization *laughs*. Also I feel completely backed by the community, I love the community so much. Another big perk for me is that I am featured on the Team Dignitas website, and any traffic that goes through the website goes to my stream.

Are there any downsides about being a streamer who represents a team?

Ellektrikk: I think the only downside that there is would be that I am a female streamer connected to a team. It is a point for a lot of chat discussion. People in communities, outside of Pokemon, rarely give me credit for work that I have done or give any thought that I might just actually qualify to work for Team Dignitas. Their mind is usually elsewhere about how I got onto the team. However that is the only downside, and to me that is not even a downside, it is just people talking.

Feel free to compliment yourself here, could you tell us what it is about your stream that you think has the biggest draw?

Ellektrikk: In my personal opinion I think the reason people come to my stream, and stay on my stream, is because I am not the 'typical girl gamer'. I don't wear low cut shirts, I don't beg for donations, my camera will never be bigger than the game, and I try to keep it as classy as possible. I keep my stream PG13 where cursing is at a minimum. I like to keep my stream wholesome and centered around my content. I love video games and it is very apparent, that's why I started streaming. I never thought it was going to be my job. I really think that people come to my stream, one because of my personality, and also because I am not going to be the typical girl gamer.

What is the best part to you about being a video game streamer.

Ellektrikk: It is my dream job. I have loved video games since I was six years old! I have loved video games my whole life. I could not wait for new consoles to come out or for new games, I wanted to play everything. So it has been a dream of mine since I was little to game for a living.

Would you say you are happy where you are right now, or are you looking to keep growing?

Ellektrikk: I love where I am and I feel I am going to be here for awhile. Obviously I would not mind growing my stream but I honestly don't wanna be famous. I just want to be able to do video games as my job and make a good living doing it. Obviously I would like to do more and post more content on youtube and branch into more games. But I am very content with where I am at. I feel like I still need to work a lot more in order to grow anymore.

Finally, Is there anything that you would like to tell your followers or people who may have not heard of you before?

Ellektrikk: Everyone loves Pokemon, shoot! *laughs* Well to my followers I just want to say thank you so much for supporting me! There are a lot of you who have been with me since my first stream and that baffles my mind. I can't believe there are people have stuck around for so long and through so many awful un-focused webcams up until this point! For those of you who don't know who I am...shoot, everyone loves Pokemon! Come over to the stream sometime, it is lots of fun we shiny hunt, chill, and it's a fun time!

Thank you so much for your time Elle! You are quite the streamer and we have confidence you will go far with your content!
