Team Dignitas has recently had a roster change, parting ways with Jonathan 'Wubby' Gunnarsson and acquiring Alexander 'AlexTheProG' Grumstrup. Ex-NaVi team captain, we're trying to know something more about him, asking about his past, present and future and the game current state.

You've played against Team Dignitas many times. What do you think their strenghts and weaknesses are from a rival's point of view?

AlexTheProG: I think the greatest strength I saw in Team Dignitas was their superior mechanics. I felt like we would get outplayed in most of the team fights against them.

What do you think you can bring to the team with your addition?

AlexTheProG: Hopefully I will be able to add some valuable shot callings and to help on the strategical part of the game.

You were team captain in NaVi but now you're playing with James 'Bakery' Baker here. Do you think that's going to be something you'll need to get used to or does it not matter to you a lot?

AlexTheProG: Sometimes it can feel kinda odd to not have the "power" but I think that James Baker is really doing a good job and far better than what I did in NaVi. He boosts the mood in the team, whereas I often did the opposite.

Okay, let's talk about your gaming career for a bit. What got you into eSports and at what point did you decide to become pro at it?

AlexTheProG: I actually had the intention to become a pro even before I started playing HotS because I wanted to drop out of school. Then after having played it for a while, I decided that I would give it a good try and I built up a team. After having played on that team for some months, we got picked up by Nihilum and I got offered a spot on NaVi, right before Road to Blizzcon.

Why did you choose to play tank when you picked up HotS?

AlexTheProG: I started as a flex/Kerrigan one-trick pony but my role swapped to tank when I got the offer from NaVi. I'm really happy with the tank role though and I think it suits me far better.

What are your favourite heroes in the current meta?

AlexTheProG: I really dislike the meta at the moment, especially the Illidan. My favorites tanks, Chen, Stitches and Leoric, are sadly kinda out of the meta.

What's the main difference between a rank 1 player and a pro player?

AlexTheProG: Most of the pro players aren't feeding like monkeys and they do winning plays more often. I also think that pro players play the good heroes more, whereas many rank 1 players will pick Azmodan for lolz.

What are your end-goals for your career?

AlexTheProG: My career goal is to break the curse and get out of groups again.

What do you think is the main reason for the actual big difference between Asian and Western teams?

AlexTheProG: I think the Western players are lazy and they don't practice enough. At the same time in Asia they have better infrastructure, which I think helps them quite a lot.

To conclude this interview, what do you think about the upcoming features in HotS (Leagues, Chromie)?

AlexTheProG: Leagues and matchmaking fixes were really needed but I personally dislike a lot the hero design on Chromie. I don't really like the idea of a really low HP caster with long spells; I don't think it's healthy for the game.

Any shoutouts to your fans or sponsors?

AlexTheProG: Shoutout to Team Dignitas and our sponsors!
