Interview with dignitas/Schneider: "We will be more unpredictable now that I'm in the team."
Our new signing Andreas 'Schneider' Lindberg took some time to talk about the communcation within the team as well as a bit about the new team dynamics. Schneider has had an unsettling period lately and believes that joining Team Dignitas as the first non-Danish player in the past few years will finally change it. Here is what he had to say on the matters!

Welcome to Team Dignitas, how does it feel like to sign for the team?
Schneider: It feels great to join the team because I have been wanting to get back onto a high level team for a long time. I believe we can do serious damage and become a really scary team to play against.
Did you have to think about signing for Team Dignitas or was it a no brainer for you (and why)?
Schneider: No I didn't have to think it through. I really like Team Dignitas and I like them even more now that I've joined!
The team has had a rough period recently in the competitive scene, do you believe your arrival can change that?
Schneider: Yes, I believe I will help fix things, not just because of my rifle skills but also because I can make us harder to read as well as provide insight on where and how to pick. I feel like that is one of my strongest sides and with my input I think we can break ourselves free of the past failures.
You are the first non-Danish player on the dignitas roster in the past few years. How do you think you will fare in the team, do you think it will have a major impact on team or little to none?
Schneider: I think it will get better and better with time. However, I do not think it will have a major impact but rather a minor one. We will do our best to understand each other and it seems to be going pretty OK already. Although we, and mostly me, are still in a learning process, I guess.
Remaining on the topic of Danish players, you said in your dignitas announcement statement that you understand 60-70% of what the rest of the team says. Does the team solely communicate in Danish or is English, or any other language, used from time to time?
Schneider: They talk almost only in Danish and if I say I don't understand something someone is kind enough to say it in English. Me personally, I am trying to speak Swedanish & English.
How will the team dynamics change with your arrival as you do not main the AWP and we've seen Pimp recently pick up the AWP on many occasions? Is pimp going to transition into AWPing or is it going to be more of a full-rifle/awp hybrid setup? What is your main role?
Schneider: Pimp is trying to transition into an AWPer and I am focusing on my rifle skills for now, I think the team dynamics will change in the sense that we will be more unpredictable now that I'm in the team. My main role is just being a solid rifler, killing people where it is needed.
What do you believe the team will have to do to qualify for the next major event?
Schneider: Just keep calm and frag hard!
You have managed to play a few games for the team already drawing against Hellraisers (1-1) and beating Penta eSports (2-0). The first Bo2 was a shaky on your behalf but versus Penta you managed to perform very well. How was your debut experience with the team?
Schneider: My debut was obviously a bit rough because I have never really practised overpass nor cobblestone with a team, so this was the first time. I also have new positions so I am still a lost soul on the newer maps at times, but overall all of our official games have gone well, except the cobblestone game against Hellraisers.
As the new addition to the team and being, in many senses a very unexpected signing, fans are keenly following your performances in matches. Do you feel this external pressure while you play? Does it affect you positively or negatively?
Schneider: After Fnatic people have always judged me hard. Every game I play, even if I stand-in for a low tier team, they expect me to frag really well. Sometimes it sucks of course, because I will get the most hate and when I play good I will also get a lot of love, so it's bad & good. Pressure wise I don't get pressured by others, the only thing that can stop me is myself.
What do you have in sight when it comes to both team achievement and personal achievement for the rest of the year?
Schneider: First of all, I want to qualify for the major, which I believe we will, and then at the major I want to reach top 8. As to personal achievements I just want to keep up the solid form I have had the last couple of months, maybe even go higher!
Do you have any other shout outs?
Schneider: Shoutout to everyone that has always supported me in my good and bad days with & without a team. Shoutout to Team Dignitas and their sponsors for all the support.
