Mounira 'GooseBreeder' Dobie is a player from the Team Dignitas’ CS:GO female roster. They are now bootcamping at the 26ers Training Complex, in Philadelphia, getting ready for the Intel Challenge Katowice 2018 at IEM Katowice. GooseBreeder took her time to answer a few questions about the upcoming tournament, team preparation and difficulties.

Interview with DIG CS:GO Fe player, GooseBreeder

IEM Katowice is rapidly approaching. It’s going to be your fourth time playing in Poland and the second while representing Team Dignitas. What are your thoughts regarding this tournament?

GooseBreeder: We’ve been playing pretty good leading up to IEM. I see us improving on a day-to-day basis, so going into IEM I’m feeling pretty confident. Our map pool is looking strong so I’m happy about that too.

Last year you finished in second place. Do you think that this will be the year where you finally bring the trophy home?

GooseBreeder: I’m quite optimistic, but I like to play every map one at a time. I definitely think getting first is something we’ve very capable of, but we’ll see when the games start.

Regarding last year’s performance, do you think that the team’s level now is higher than before?

GooseBreeder: I definitely think the team is much better than last year. Every day, we’ve made improvements and I constantly see us growing as a team. I think with the addition of milk, our team atmosphere has changed as well for the better. While in past years, we never quite felt like all the puzzle pieces fit together. This year, our team finally feels complete – we have the right pieces, now we just need to optimize our play to continue on the path to success.

How is the preparation for the tournament going on?

GooseBreeder: We expected to play more than we were able to. We joined CEVO-Main as well as balancing our ESEA matches. Unfortunately, most of our CEVO matches were forfeit wins. We were looking forward to playing those matches as a way to practice for IEM. However, we did keep busy with scrims. On our final day of bootcamp, we have a long practice session ahead and we’re feeling confident going into IEM.

How does your daily practice look like? Since you’re so close to an important tournament, do you have a strict schedule, with everything planned beforehand or do you just work on what you think needs more training at that moment?

GooseBreeder: We try to plan our schedule well in advance, but sometimes issues come up. Map pool wise, we go day by day and see what we want to play first. We make sure we cover all maps by the end of the bootcamp and feel comfortable on all of those maps. We play about six to eight hours a day, with mental breaks in-between.

What are your biggest difficulties right now during practice?

GooseBreeder: Our biggest difficulty was scheduled practice. Since we are trying to adjust more towards EU time and find practice it’s was quite challenging to find practice for the times we were looking for. We solved this problem by scheduling some EU scrims for our early slots and NA for our late slots.

You are starting ESEA Intermediate in a very strong fashion, with nothing but wins so far (5-0-0 record at the moment of writing this interview). How confident is the team right now regarding this league?

GooseBreeder: We are pretty confident going into this tournament; I always like to stay confident but take it one game at a time. I am pretty optimistic going into this event.

Do you think that you will be able to maintain these high spirits and morale when playing different tournaments and qualifiers, online and LAN?

GooseBreeder: Our ESEA results are a reflection of our preparation for various tournaments and qualifiers. We hope to make an impact in ESEA this season, specifically advancing to ESEA Main. We’re optimistic we can transition those online results to success on LAN.

Any words you’d like to say to finish this interview?

GooseBreeder: Thank you to all of sponsors for giving us the tools and resources we need to compete at upcoming tournaments. Thank you as well to our fans for the continuous support. We hope to make you proud at IEM.
