Bergie's recap of 2012

As 2012 comes to and end, I would like to give my thoughts on how the year has been for Team Dignitas.TMNF.

The year started with us being fresh off our first STC victory, and also the first team tournament win since I joined back in January 2009. This was a big relief for us as we had struggled a lot with clinching these titles, placing second, third and even fourth very often. Now we had the confidence and belief we needed to continue strongly in 2012 and that is exactly what we did:

- ESL Major Series 9, our first ESL Team Tournament victory. After sailing through the first matches in the groupstage, we ended up losing to Team Acer and drawing against Mythix. We were qualified for the playoffs before those matches though, hence they did not matter that much. Going into the playoffs we were focused on finishing the job and claim our first ESL title and so we did after a stunning 4-0 victory against Team Acer in the final. We will all remember the epic 1v1 between FrostBeule and KarjeN, however the 3on3 was also incredibly close and ended 7-6 for us. We had now yet another tournament win which we did not have before, however the next tournament did not go as planned:

- TmT, where do i start.. We forfeited in the previous edition of this tournament, however this time we wanted to win it and stop Team Acer's win streak. We made it to the final after beating Infused in the semifinals, however the final was not a good showing from our side. We were not nearly trained enough for a final against a team of that caliber, and even though other problems heading into the final played a role in that, we were deeply sorry towards the community for our display in that match. The community deserved better and that is why we wanted to gain some "respect" back in STC9:

- STC9, could we make it back to back champions? Obviously since we won our first big tournament in STC8, the ET-league tournaments have a special place in our hearts. We wanted to become the first back to back champions, and we yet again made it to the final without any big problems. There we expected to meet Team Acer (as always), however Rta (Rule Them All) wanted differently and beat them 2-1 in a somewhat strange match if I could say so. In the final we lost the first map after what had been an impressive team performance from our opponents, however we bounced back in style and demolished them on the following two maps and thus clinched the victory. We wrote Trackmania-history twice in that final: First team to win twice in a row and also to win three times overall.

We have also had amazing results individually, climaxing with Spam becoming the World Champion and Carl Jr placing 3rd at ESWC. I am so proud of how we have proven that we are the best team in the world, and we will continue to please our fans by displaying raw skills on the tracks.

I would also like to thank those that are not part of the team anymore, your contribution has been appreciated and good luck in the future. Lastly I would like to thank you so much for everyone's support this year, bring on 2013 and hopefully more glorious moments for us!
