Three Community Projects you Should Check Out

Many of you know that DotA started off as a community driven custom map for Warcraft III, but there's more to be found in the wonderful for world of custom games. Let's explore some of the cream of the crop below!

Legacy of the Confederation

Okay so this one is actually a Broodwar mod \ custom campaign, but stick with me. Legacy of the Confederation is hands down the best fan-made campaign I've ever played. It features unique game play, high quality voice acting that rivals Blizzard's own, brilliant story telling, and three unique campaigns all with different gameplay, tone and atmosphere.

LotC takes place in an alternate universe, where the UED is never formed, instead the Zerg come to earth and overwhelm the human race. There are some truly chilling moments in LotC, and I highly recommend it as a truly unforgettable experience.

Starcraft & Brood War Ports

If you're under the age of 20 there's a pretty good chance you never played the original Starcraft, and that's okay its not a crime to be young, but you owe it to yourself to try out the campaigns, and now you have no excuse because they're playable within Starcraft II. The fine folks over at SC2Mapster have gone through the trouble to create a nearly flawless port of the games that started it all, and translated it over to the engine that we know and love today.

Whether you want to relive that campaign nostalgia, or experience Kerrigan's fall from humanity, and Mengsk's betrayal for the first time, they're definitely worth checking out. Get them here!

Starcraft Universe

Ever hoped that Blizzard would create a World of Starcraft? I doubt that will ever happen, but we have the next closest thing! Its called Starcraft Universe, and its a blast! Right now only the prologue is out, but you can play it for free on the arcade!
