Rejoice Terran players, and most importantly, spectators! Blizzard has listened to us and decided to fix the unit that has single-handedly broken the game in the past few months, namely the Infestor.

Fear me!

A list of the balance changes

Terran
Upgrade requirement removed for Raven seeker missile.

Zerg
Infested Terran eggs health down from 100 to 70
Fungal Growth range down from 9 to 8

The first change is the removal of the upgrade for the seeker missile for Ravens. What they mean here is that Terran players no longer need to research the Raven seeker missile upgrade before they can use it, meaning that all Ravens now come with the Seeker Missile by default.

This change appears to be a way to change how the TvZ matchup works. Without having to research the Seeker Missile upgrade Terran players can now use the extra gas for other things such as: research Corvid Reactor (Energy upgrade for the Raven), make another starport, or even train the first Raven relatively faster than before the patch. Having a Raven coming out earlier will really help Terran players to deny creep spread and even help them to push in the mid game (PDDs are surprisingly good against Mutalisks). Transitioning to Air Terran for the late game will also be slightly easier.

The second change (Lower Infested Terran eggs health) will be a huge nerf for the Zerg against Protoss players. Now, Colossi and High Templars will be super effective against Infestors. One storm will kill an Infested Terran egg if timed perfectly. Also, Colossi will be able to snipe the eggs much easier.

The third and final change (Lower Fungal Growth range) will affect both matchups. Colossi will be able to snipe Infestors easily and High Templars can also Feedback Infestors before they can Fungal the Templar. Finally, Terran players will have an easier time against Infestors when they go bio as they have more room for error to dodge incoming Fungals.

Some people have argued that these changes are not enough to make the game balanced. However, we should wait for at least a few weeks to see how these changes will affect the overall state of balance.
