An Interview with Empire's Beastyqt: "People who never met me know me as a BM person, people that I care about know better :)"

I had a chance to talk to Beastyqt, a professional Starcraft 2 player from Serbia. He became known for beating many good players in off-line cups and he is surely a player to watch out for!

Alright, thank you for doing this and let’s get started! So can you tell me a little bit about yourself?

Beastyqt: My name is Aleksandar Krstic, im from Serbia and I play Terran for Team Empire. Recently came back from US and living back at home at the moment and feeling good!

 

So can you tell me your biggest achievements so far? What are you known for?

Beastyqt: I dont really have any big achivements so far which im sad about. I placed well and won many online cups, some invitationals, but thats about it. Hoping to do a lot better at LAN's in future :) As far as in game goes im known to be aggressive terran player thats not afraid to allin when needed, as far as my personality goes people who never met me know me as a BM person, people that I care about know better :)

 

How did you get the name beastyqt and why did you change it?

Beastyqt: I've always been good in any game I played and the last one I played before switching to Sc2 people started calling me "Beast" because...well I was good a the game so I just thought why not :) Once I started playing Sc2 my goal wasnt to become a pro and I even had no idea what a pro is, I just played for fun. I recently dropped "qt" because people were butchering my name with BeastyQT and just found it..not as fun as I did 2 years ago when I named myself that :) I dont mind people calling me Beastyqt tho, Beasty or Beastyqt its all good!

 

What do you think of the game right now?

Beastyqt: I dont really like state Sc2 is in right now, games are kinda dull and we have almost always same openers and unit compositions and playstyles. ZvT and PvT zergs and protosses just camp until they reach deathball while terran tries to do damage early game or possibly finish before the game reaches late game. Funniest match-up for me is TvT since old builds keep coming back and new ones keep popping up, while other 2 matchups feel like ticking time bomb for terran players.

 

What would you change?

Beastyqt: Game is played too fast due to larva inject, warp-in and mules which enables players rushing for end game compositions at 10minutes in game. AoE spells need to be nerfed by a lot to make game enjoyable and maybe give terrans tier 3 unit and boost at least one of the terran spell-casters. [4:23:08 PM] Beastyqt: Players with better multitasking, micro and macro should win and be rewarded for playing better, not the players that manage to click one fungal, one seeker missile or one storm correctly.
