Playing Neith in the Hunter Role

Neith is well known for her simplicity but this doesn't deter the top players. She has a very strong middle and late game and is not to be underestimated. Neith is consistently picked in tournaments by top players like Zapman, BaRRaCCuDDa and Youngbae despite her reputation of being ‘easy’ according to some players.

Skills

Broken Weave (Passive)
A Broken Weave appears at the last location that each enemy god dies. The Broken Weaves give her abilities secondary effects when used on the Broken Weaves. These weaves last for 1 minute.

Spirit Arrow - 1st Ability
Neith fires a shot through the world weave that passes through everything. The first enemy hit takes 80/140/200/260/320 (+80% of your physical power) damage and is rooted for 1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8/2s. Successive enemies take 75% of the damage and root duration. If the Spirit Arrow hits a Broken Weave, the Weave detonates, dealing an additional 100% of the damage and applying the root to all enemies in the area.

Cost: 60/65/70/75/80 mana.
Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Usually what you will prioritize, besides your ultimate. This has nice scaling and will do a lot of damage especially when combined with detonating a weave. To put it plain and simple, this is going to hurt at max!

Unravel - 2nd Ability
Neith neatly unravels the world weaves, doing 70/100/130/160/190 (+80% of your physical power) damage to all enemies in a 20ft radius at the target area, reducing their attack speed by 30% for 2/3/4/5/6s, and healing Neith by 20/35/50/65/80 (+15% of your physical power) for each enemy hit, up to 3. Any Broken Weaves in the area are removed, healing Neith by 40/70/100/130/160 (+30% of your physical power).

Cost: 70 mana.
Cooldown: 15 seconds.

Situationally this can be prioritized over Spirit Arrow to give you decent sustain in lane. There are a fair few players who like to level this skill up for its survivability and good area damage.

Back Flip - 3rd Ability
Neith back flips through the air, creating a Broken Weave as she leaps while doing 60/100/140/180/220 (+80% of your physical power) damage and slowing enemies in the area in front of her by 25% for 2.5/3/3.5/4/4.5s.

Cost: 70/80/90/100/110 mana.
Cooldown: 15 seconds.

This is worth having a point in for a good escape as well as so you can place a Broken Weave using it. It shouldn’t be prioritised over Spirit Arrow or Unravel in my opinion.

World Weaver - Ultimate
Neith charges up and fires an arrow across the world, seeking its target through obstacles. Enemy gods take 230/295/360/425/490 (+120% of your physical power) damage and are stunned for 1.1/1.2/1.3/1.4/1.5s. The arrow can be fired quicker for diminished results.

Cost: 80/90/100/110/120 mana.
Cooldown: 90 seconds.

This will be a priority to put skill points into. It is basically like an execute/kill secure whilst also being a strong way of aiding a teammate from across the map due to its damage and stun. Remember to let it charge up before you fire it!

Building

As Neith you will want to go with a standard Hunter build for starters. This will probably consist of Death's Toll, Rank one of boots , the active Sprint, 1 health and 1 mana potion. As of the most recent patch you could also go with Death's Toll, Spiked Gauntlet and mana/health/multipotion. Next will be to turn Spiked Gauntlet into Devourer's Gauntlet and then into full Warrior Tabi. Devourer's are safer to build than Heartseeker as you do not lose stacks when you die and also they give a very good amount of lifesteal.

After you have finished this early-middle game build you will want to start on your critical chance, begin to build into Deathbringer and then Rage after this. Titan's Bane is a good pick after your Crit items as it will grant you that 33% Physical Penetration. You will probably also want to get up to Greater Sprint and pick your other active according to your enemy team composition. For example Poseidon will require Greater Aegis, Scylla would mean Aegis Pendant, Tyr would mean Purification Beads. I could go on about actives but that's not what we're here for.

By this point in the game you will probably be running Deaths Toll, Warrior Tabi, Devourers Gauntlet, Deathbringer, Rage and Titan's Bane. Now to finish this off sell Deaths Toll for The Executioner. Once fully built, Neith will be doing massive amounts of damage with all the criticals and penetration!

Feel free to mess around with the build as this is just one I personally like. There are other good items you can try out like Quin's Sais or Heartseeker, change your build against different opponents if you need to!

Gameplay

In the early game
At the start of the game you will want to be very careful but try and keep up your aggression against the enemy. You will want to be careful because Neith can be a very easy first blood especially before she has her Backflip ability. You will start by taking either middle camps, if you are on the right side of the map, and going to take your mana buff or just by simply taking your mana buff if you are on the left side of the map. Ideally your support should let you get last hits on minions and you will begin the long grind of the Hunter which involves farming stacks, avoiding ganks and poking your enemy. Your support will begin with you but will start to rotate for middle camps and leaving you all on your own to farm. Just Spirit Arrow the minion waves and then Unravel on them, you can also use these to poke your enemies as well as root them with Spirit Arrow.

In the middle game
Neith begins to pick up here a bit. Try to keep yourself map aware, know when you can set up kills with your World Weaver and rotate for the Gold Fury when you can. You will probably just continue farming in your lane for a while but your criticals will be coming online now and you will have some real poke against your enemies. Try to keep getting your mana buff when you can, by this time you will be clearing jungle camps fairly quickly.

In the late game
This is where you will shine. Neith will really put some damage out now that she has her critical chance and penetration built. No one will be able to take your damage for very long as you start putting out powerful criticals that can do around 800 damage! Try to stay in the team fights but Neith can also split push quite well. Save your Backflip for escaping or if you desperately need to place a Broken Weave. Try not to hit Broken Weaves with your unravel as you will heal off of them but you will lose them in the process, unless you really need to heal. Use the Spirit Arrows ideally on to Broken Weaves due to how much more damage they will do and that they can hit multiple players this way.

Tips
1) I say this every time but remember to ward, it's not just the supports job!
2) Try to stick with the team in the late game, you’ll most likely get the Sovereignty buff if your support builds it, which they should and you will be harder to kill if you're with the group.
3) Similarly try not to split push when you can see your team in trouble or will be in trouble as this can lose you a game, just split push when the enemy team is a few players down and can't defend all the structures.
4) Have fun and stay calm, Hunters usually get picked off a lot due to how they have no protections and no huge amounts of damage early game, try to just embrace this and avoid it as much as you can, Backflip should save you a lot!

Enjoy Neith and give me your feedback!
Karma out!
