Team Dignitas Summer Split Week 4 Preview: Team Dignitas vs NRG eSports

This matchup is tough for Team Dignitas because NRG is a team that specialises in turning map control into aggressive play, much like Team Dignitas. A lot of this comes down to Adapting, NRG's jungler who is renowned for his mechanical skill but also his mastery of the jungle over many, many seasons. In this way, he is very similar to QvoFred, and they have been compared to each other many times before. Their matchups are usually very even, with Adapting being one of the few junglers able to best QvoFred. However, if QvoFred can exploit their difference in playstyles he could win easily. Adapting is aggressive by default while QvoFred values control over everything, so if QvoFred manages to control the jungle, he can punish Adapting's more aggressive plays. Either way, this matchup will probably decide the fate of the game.

In the midlane, the matchup is similarly close. Rivals for a long time, Team Dignitas Zyrhoes and NRG's Yammyn match each other pretty evenly when it comes to mechanical skill, having both been high-level midlaners for a long time. Where they differ is specific playstyle, with Zyrhoes being more reserved while Yammyn is famed for his early, impactful rotations. Similarly to the jungle matchup, Zyrhoes could use this to his advantage to bait Yammyn into unfortunate situations. Both players will need to work closely with their junglers as well, so the jungle matchup will be important to the outcome of the midlane as well.

The solo lane sees two European powerhouses face off, as Variety takes on Maniakk from NRG. This is one lane in this matchup that seems to definitely be in Team Dignitas' favour, as Maniakk's aggressive playstyle seems to get perfectly countered by Variety most of the time. Variety's experience in tough and aggressive lanes means that he usually has the edge over Maniakk, even in games where Team Dignitas loses. This time, if Variety focuses more on his rotations and helping his team, he could translate his lead over Maniakk into a victory for Team Dignitas.

Finally, the duo lane sees a fairly even matchup for both sides. Even though NRG's EmilZy and emilitoo are fairly new together, their synergy and combined skill are evident, which has made them a lane to be reckoned with. They are one of the few duo lanes in the region that can match up to Trixtank and Arkkyl in terms of lane control and pace in the lane. Trixtank and Arkkyl are definitely able to keep up with them and wrestle lane control away from them, but they need to be careful to not get outdrafted. If they manage to draft the correct gods, they should be able to hold their own in this lane and perhaps even win it.

This rematch will most likely come down to the success of the jungle and the solo lane. While NRG did beat Team Dignitas quite handily last time, Team Dignitas has done nothing but win since then, so the benefit of all this extra experience should give them the edge to get revenge against NRG esports.
