When it comes to playing competitive Overwatch, sometimes it can be hard to continuously grind solo on the ladder. It can get lonely and you are definitely more susceptible to be tilted. A good way to fix this is having someone you can duo with. Someone who can help you have more fun and also can share the pain in some of those tilting moments. Misery does love company after all. If you're looking to play with your duo and thinking of some combinations of heroes you can play together, then I have a few options for you.

Winston and D.Va

This is arguably the best tank combo in the game. With the power that is dive composition, a good Winston and D.Va can almost single-handedly kill any backline or squishy target. If you and your duo partner decide to play these two together, be ready to follow each other into the enemy team. The most important thing to look out for when you and your duo partner are diving in as D.Va and Winston is calling targets and communicating with them. If you both dive on a Zenyatta together or any squishy target, that person baring some serious healing or outplay will be taken out. Make sure to always be diving together. Also as the D.Va player, make sure to defense matrix your monkey ally when he dives in. It will mitigate a lot of the initial damage that could be dealt to your Winston. Even if it ends up not working out the way you hoped, it is still better to go in as a unit rather than just one at a time.

Tracer and Genji

Now we head to the opposite side of the dive coin, to the DPS. Much like D.Va and Winston, a great Tracer and Genji can slice and shoot through an enemy team with ease. You aren't necessarily as tanky or durable being these two, so you have to play a little bit more around your healers. However, once the both of you get the ball rolling, you can really snowball the enemy team. The other beauty of playing these two is if the enemy team is hard focusing one of you, the other DPS will have the chance to shine. Make sure as always that you are communicating with your duo partner about who is low and if you can take them out. As DPS, you also can hurt tanks a lot more than the tank duo can, so if possible you can burst down the tanks with ease before making your way to the backline.

Pharah and Mercy

This combo has been around since the beginning of Overwatch. A tried and true combo that has stood the test of time through all. Through all metas, the Pharmercy combo has been a powerful one. When playing Pharah in this combo, you need to be hitting your shots and making use of the damage boost Mercy is giving you. This along with the healing she is able to keep on you almost constantly allows you to be more aggressive with your playstyle. This doesn't mean to play "Ground Pharah", but it means that you can be a little bit less worried about getting burst down. As the Mercy of this duo, you are going to want to keep yourself tethered to your Pharah at almost all times.

Roadhog and Orisa

This combo is relatively new in terms of the current meta but it still is a really fun combo to play with your buddy. The Orisa/Hog or "Ball and Chain" combo as the lovely Uber coins it in this clip, will make the enemies fear the hook every time it is on cooldown. With this combo, the thing you should be looking out for is your cooldowns. Both Roadhog Hook and Orisa Halt have an 8-second cooldown. So if you are playing Orisa and are looking to pull off a ball and chain combo with your Roadhog, make sure he has Hook off cooldown. For Roadhog, it's rather simple, just aim for the Halt and once you see enemies pulled in, fire off that hook and pull them back into you. With the amount of damage Roadhog and Orisa can pump out up close, even the heaviest of tanks will stand no chance.

Hanzo and Widowmaker

Please do not play this combo unless you are in a very high SR and are sniper Gods.

Conclusion

Playing in a duo is one of the best ways to experience competitive Overwatch play. You have someone who understands what you are going through, even if it's good or bad, you and your duo partner are still making memories together. Even if you tilt or have toxic teammates, you'll both look back on it later and get a good chuckle out of it. So when you're playing with your duo, remember to have fun. Hopefully, this guide gave you a few ideas on what you and your duo would like to try out sometime. If you do try these out, I hope you get some great plays out of them and as always, climb up that SR ladder.

Until next time, I've been Kenobi. Have fun!
