Vision is Key: An All-Round Warding Guide
This guide will consist of four segments. Each segment fully describing the wards for each unique role. The guide will cover the warding spots in chronological order, from Top lane to Bot lane. Now, as a Top laner there are a lot of possiblities to ward, so without further ado. Let us begin!
1) Top river bush

Now this is a very, very basic spot. It is efficient, because it saves you a lot of time and makes you get back in to lane in a heartbeat, however it is not a deep ward, leaving you vulnerable to ganks and or roams from Mid lane, it also only covers one side. Leaving an entire side open and vulnerable. Once you spot the enemy Jungler or Mid lane it is often too late.
2) Top tri-bush

This is another basic ward. Covers the upper half of your lane, however it still leaves you prone to ganks, because once again: Once you see the Jungler coming, it is already too late.
3) The Rift Scuttler

Now this is a great alternative instead of warding the river bush. This will provide both vision and movement speed. The "Crab" is fairly weak early game, causing it to be a valuable target for either Jungle or Top lane Keep in mind:"When affected by crowd control that prevents her movement, Rift Scuttler permanently loses 50 armor and magic resist. And while Rift Scuttler is under the effect of crowd control that prevents her movement, she receives 25% extra damage from all sources, including true damage." Use it to your advantage. Almost every Champion has Crowd Control.
4) Blue buff bush

A deep ward which is often overlooked and/or paid no attention to. Having vision of their buffs is one thing, but having vision of the lower left-side of Top lane can be a huge advantage. Use this in combination with The Rift Scuttler for total Top coverage. These wards are perfect for "Scaring" away the enemy Jungler. He knows you are a good warder and will be mind-gamed often.
5) Baron bush

The name is quite self-explanatory because.. Well.. It is a bush... At baron.. Also this is a great ward for both blue and red side, often being highly contested and thus pinked. Unlike many other wards is this a great ward for both Blue and Red side, it is also a great ward for Mid lane and Top lane. When you are playing as a Top laner, these wards offer a lot of purpose, mainly because ganks are seen from a significant range, thus you will not get caught out from a gank. Helping your Mid laner by warding off his left side is a great bonus as well, because not only will it give you vision, it will also help others. It's a great alternative to killing the Rift Scuttler and it works just fine in combination with the Crab.
6) Blue team's Red buff bush

Without a doubt one of my favorite spots to ward in the game. Great ward for both Blue and Red side, because it is often contested, covers multiple angles and is an important "cross-over" pathway for ganking (i.e mid to bot or vice-versa) Ganks are seen coming and it is often over-looked, hence very cost efficient.
7) Red team's red buff

A really good ward spot. Along with the other good wards, this ward is often contested as well, because it covers Top side's half, which helps Top a lot, covers almost your entire left side and spotting the enemy Jungler roaming around waiting for an opening to pick up that sweet, sweet kill.
8) Dragon bush

Not so much as a ''Deep ward" but it will do the trick. It covers your entire right side and a little bit of Dragon. Pinking this bush is a great idea, it isn't that contested, but it covers a lot of space.
9) Jungle
In general: Warding all buffs is considered viable! Warding their buffs (Blue and Red) offers quite a lot of positive effects, such as knowing their timers and making a play based off those timers and knowing where the enemy Jungler is. Also: Have a gander at the previous wards. As a Jungler your role is not only to gank, it is also to provide vision. Every lane's role is to provide vision, but a lot of people seem to forget that. Wards at drake and baron often tend to have a very positive outcome.
10) Bot river ward

The most basic ward known to men, the Bot river ward. Useless and serves no purpose whatsoever. Once you see the Jungler, you are already dead. If you fall behind then the ward serves no purpose, because the enemy already has control of the area, which is the thing you're trying to stop from happening. Also, the ward gives little to no vision, at all. It only covers one side and leaves many paths open and exposed I often refer to it as the "Lazy ward" because it is much, much easier to ward deeper and it has way more purpose. When you are Supporting remember the "Buff" wards. In this case make sure to ward the "Red buff bush" It helps Mid lane and prevents roaming. Works great in combination with The Rift Scuttler.
For reference:

11) The Rift Scuttler : Cute little fellow. Easily killable and provides vision for the entire bottom side river.

Downside: Barely killable for a Support, because a Support often deals little to no damage (unless Brand, Annie or any other "caster" type support) And you do not want to leave your ADC alone. Upside: Covers the whole river. Works great in combination with Red buff ward.
12) Bot Tri-bush

This can either be a really defensive or an offensive ward. All-round good ward to place. Is often contested and thus pinked. Highly recommended to ward this bush at all times. Works great in combination with The Rift Scuttler and Red buff ward.
That is all for this guide folks! Feel free to leave any feedback in the comments.
