Most Common Player Mistakes and How to Fix Them
A wise man once said that smart people learn from their mistakes, but the real sharp ones learn from the mistakes of others. It’s a normal thing to make a mistake, especially if you’re having a bad day, and it’s the same in life as it is in League of Legends. Everyone makes mistakes and it shouldn’t be a reason to undervalue someone’s abilities. What one must be able to do, however, is learn from their and others' mistakes in order to get better. If you haven’t been keeping an eye out on your or your teammates'/opponents' mistakes and you’ve got nothing to learn from, I'm going to help you by introducing you to the most common mistakes in League of Legends and ways to fix them.
Flaming and Blaming
If you play League of Legends daily, you will encounter flaming and blaming in chat on daily basis too. We understand that you can be mad and nervous, but you must remember that your teammates are not your psychiatrists and they don’t have to deal with your emotions. If you don’t think you’re in a mood that is good enough for playing the game – don’t play it. You have to remember that flaming someone is not going to improve their gameplay in any way, it will do quite opposite. However, there’s always constructive criticism but only a few people take it positively. On the other side, if you’re the one being flamed at, please press that ignore button for the teammates that are flaming you. You won’t lose much from it, you will feel much better and you will be able to concentrate on the game more. Just remember how much time you’ve lost in the last game while you were trying to write a coherent answer to the person that was flaming you. League of Legends must be played clear-headed in order to win.

Overextending and Not Retreating
The one thing you must always remember is that no matter how great advantage you have, you are always vulnerable. If you’ve won the teamfight, it doesn’t mean you must stay and push until you die. You must always stay with your team and behind your minions. Also, keep the range of the towers in mind. If you are overextending, you can almost always be sure that you’ll have the whole opponents’ team on your back pretty soon. It’s not hard to get cold-blooded in the middle of the teamfight and although aggression can be good at certain occasions, not knowing when to retreat and run away is a death sentence in League of Legends.
Remember that you must always retreat when you’re outnumbered. You will find lots of players who tend to stay on a lane after a fight with pretty low health. If you feel that going back to base would be a waste of time at that point, you must be really, really careful and have full vision around you. You have to turn tail and run at the slightest sign of the enemy presence. Also, don’t dive if it won’t bring you a safe kill. If there’s even a slightest chance that you might die and the opponent may run away, don’t even think about it. You’ll have quite a lot of time to fight them out of the turret range.
Tunnel Vision
Tunnel vision usually takes place when you start chasing a low HP opponent, but his movement speed is slightly faster than yours. You may notice that you have escaped and weren’t killed lots of times exactly because of the opponents’ team chasing you to the very end. So, why do you think it might be the opposite when you’re the one chasing? Even if you are great with skillshots and ranged attacks, it doesn’t mean you will catch the champion and get that kill. As a matter of fact, there’s a greater chance that you will get killed during your chase and leave your team behind. If someone else comes and has more HP than the one running away, but is closer, there’s a much greater chance that you will get a kill from him than from the one who’s running away. Be adaptable and don’t get tunnel vision, or you might end up not getting a kill at all.

Not being aware of who’s dangerous and focusing a Tank
Don’t ever forget that the Tank exists to absorb the damage you deal in order to help their team. Not focusing a Tank is something you might think is a basic part of teamfight strategy, but it’s also one of the most common mistakes that occurs in games. Both AP and AD Carries have really low defences, and the Tank should be the one in front of them so that you can’t damage them. The Tank is, of course, building defensive items which means he’s not much of a threat, so you might as well focus on squishier opponents. Your priority targets should be the ones with high damage. The same tip, however, goes for the other side too. Make sure that you have a tank that can CC and take the edge off, and don’t fall victim to your opponents since they might be trying to do a same thing. Also, never forget to adapt your items to defend yourself from the strongest opponent. If you itemize yourself right, you will give yourself an advantage and will soon enough be able to kill (or at least isolate) the opponent's “beast”.
Try to always remember to activate your items and abilities. Multitasking is an important part of League strategy. Don’t be afraid to dodge random games, play your main role as much as you can, don’t be stubborn and try to make League as much fun as possible by making some friends!
