Following the Gods: Using Worlds Picks in Your Elo

Kennen ADC and Support

Brought to the Rift by Martin "Rekkles" Larsson of Team Fnatic, Kennen ADC is a surprisingly good choice for the bot lane. As an aggressive champion, Kennen matches well with an ADC of the same style. A support such as Leona, Shen, or Braum. Rekkles has shown how this champion can fit into the meta by winning both games played with him in Worlds. Kennen has wonderful wave clear with Lightning Rush and Electrical Surge. In my opinion, Kennen has the best wave clear for being a non-meta ADC. Besides the spells, build Kennen like any other ADC: start Infinity Edge, Berserker's Greaves, Trinity Force, then whatever else you'd like to carry in your arsenal.

Kennen can be played all across the map, but the most awkward I've seen is Kennen support. Weirdly, this is played more then ADC Kennen, from what I've seen. A support I could compare it to would have to be Annie. Annie is an all around champion, but she can he used as a support because of her burst damage, heavy poke, and stun. She can stun off of any ability, but she has to stack her passive 4 times to do it. It's high reward, but it takes a while to do it, and it's not as straight forward as Morgana - another support - and her stun. Kennen can stun also, but only if he gets three stacks of Mark of the Storm off. As a support, you'd go Utility/AP. Besides the Spellthief's, Sightstones and Red Trinket, you'd go straight AP. The Zhonya's Hourglass is the most important, as you will most likely be the main source of engage on the team, going in with your ult and immediately using the active on your Zhonya's.

Shen Support

Played by Michael "Bunny FuFuu" Kurylo of Team Gravity and many others, Shen support makes use of insane map pressure to not only be a support to the ADC, but a support to the whole team after he reaches Level 6. In lane, Shen has a taunt that he can use to direct all the damage to himself, which can be helpful when the ADC is trying to run away, or even secure a kill. Shen can let the ADC or whoever hits a champion heal themselves, thanks to Vorpal Blade. Post level 6, this is not limited to the ADC. Everyone on the team can benefit from the Shen support, as long as he has his ult up. If someone all the way across the map is fighting and it look like it'll be to the wire, Shen can ult on top of them, shielding them, giving them that advantage that may just win them the fight. Shen is that champion that you can have all over the map, doing whatever it is he needs. As a Shen, you'd build full tank, aside from the usual Sightstone, Relic Shield and Red Trinket. Your job is to absorb damage, while also peeling for the rest of the team. You are the engage unless stated otherwise, dashing in with the taunt, allowing for your team to follow up with whatever needs to be done. Throwing Vorpal Blade onto the current enemy targeted, allowing your team to heal off of them. Since maxed Vorpal Blade has a four second cooldown, you'd be able to apply it to as many champions as possible, keeping it active throughout the whole team fight.

Irelia Mid

I'm not sure if you should nerf Irelia or Faker, but either way this is an insane pick for mid lane. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok brought out Irelia mid in the third week of the LCK 2015 summer playoffs against the KOO Tigers. (Who knew that they'd be facing each other in the World Finals, too.) Taking Irelia mid is no different from taking her top lane, besides your opponent. She benefits from doing tons of damage while still being able to tank, which if you can get the kill advantage early game, you will be unkillable in lane. Farming with Irelia is pretty simple, just use Q to last hit and watch out for mana. Depending on your team, you can either build one or two damage items and full tank, or go full AP/AD. Since Irelia is a champion that goes in for most of her kills, I'd recommend the tank build. You still do tons of damage while not being as squishy as the full AP/AD counterpart. It's safer and you'll be able to do more than just one or two people while they're roaming.

Hopefully you all enjoyed Worlds like I did, and despite your favorite team not winning Worlds, still had a great time. Be sure to try out anything you'd like in a normal, and don't take it to ranked unless you're absolutely sure it works. Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.
