Vision Control: Mid Lane

Vision control is one of the most important aspects of League of Legends. There are many different parts of it, there’s denying vision, applying vision, and when to ward. I will elaborate on those three subjects more throughout this post. This will be mainly about how to ward and deny vision in the mid lane.
Applying Vision
When you are mid lane you will want to apply vision as much as possible. The first step to applying vision which is pretty well known is buying wards. Everytime you back as long as you have any left over gold you should be buying wards. Buy at least a green ward each time and a pink if you do not have a pink on the map.
Pinks are a little different than green wards, if you cannot keep a pink up then it’s not as worth it, but pinks are much more important if you can keep them safe. If you are getting pressured by their jungler or you have a lack of vision across the map, you will need to ask your jungler to assist you in deploying wards. When to place wards is very important, like I said if you are under pressure you will need a jungler's assistance to help you ward or have him ward for you, either way it is important for him to help you ward because you cannot always do it alone.
Denying Vision
Denying vision is pretty important, after you have bought wards to sufficiently give you vision, ideally on your first back you should be able to afford two wards at least, if you cannot afford two wards ask your jungler to ward your other side. Anyways once you have two wards placed or even one you want to swap to a sweeper. Sweeping wards is pretty much your only way of denying vision most of the time, since pink wards are used more as wards that last forever rather than wards that see green wards.
So once you get a sweeper you want to watch where they ward and then sweep it out, go with your jungler to get deep wards in their jungle and be able to see where they ward because if you deny vision this way you will easily be able to take advantage. Denying vision is the hardest thing to do though so it will take practice. Regardless, it is very important for you to become very versed in this aspect of the game so practice it and get in the habit of sweeping wards.
Where to place wards
This pink ward is very good because it is a safe ward if you place it in your own jungle as it can work on purple side or blue side. It is a pink ward to place if you want decent vision and a lasting ward. If you place it in the enemy's team brush it becomes an agressive ward, that might not be seen, but if you keep up the pressure then you can keep it alive.

This one is a mixture of an aggressive ward and a passive ward. It may not be checked, but it is an extremely popular ward. It gives you good vision and it is easy to keep safe. These spots are the most basic places for a pink ward and they are very good if you can use them right.

The three green wards shown here are the places you can place the wards in the mid lane, it can be mirrored top side or bot side either way. The banana brush ward is a defensive ward that gives vision of the river.
The ramp is a more aggressive ward that gives you vision of the raptor camp, it is the best ward because it allows you to see the jungle very early, but it also doesn't get vision of the river. If you do this ward have your bot lane ward their brush or the tri and you can see the enemy jungler anywhere he goes.
The third ward is in the closest brush to the actual mid lane, it is the safest ward, but it also is the worst ward as it gives you the least vision, only do this if you have no vision on the map and are very afraid of the jungler ganking you.
Closing Statements
It is very important you learn how to do this as a mid laner. It is also equally important for the jungler to know when to help their mid laner ward and control vision. Knowing when to place the wards and where to place them becomes extremely important. Getting into the habit of buying wards, swapping to sweeper when you have sufficient wards up, and knowing when to prioritize wards over items. We all can work on this basic stuff and getting into the habit of this will help you become a better player.
