Caitlyn: The Sheriff of Piltover - A quick look at why I find her so amazing

All those years ago when I was a newcomer to League of Legends, everything seemed daunting to me. I had no prior experience in similar games, and it was hard for me to grasp all the different elements of League of Legends at first. Luckily, when I first started playing, one champion stood out to me, and that was Caitlyn. She immediately drew me in, and I was fascinated by everything about her. Caitlyn is by far my favorite League of Legends champion, and through this article, I will show you some reasons why Caitlyn is a champion worth picking up, along with why she is such amazing champion!

 

Lore

Simply put, Caitlyn’s lore is amazing. After her father was mugged when she was a young teenager, she seeked revenge against the people who robbed and took advantage of him. Ever since then, Caitlyn became a natural crime fighter. At first, Caitlyn’s parents disapproved of this, but have since showed love and support for Caitlyn and her passion for crime fighting and investigating. She later rose the ranks and became the sheriff of her homeland of Piltover and has been able to keep the crime rate drastically low.

Caitlyn has a Type-A personality and she tends to go by-the-books, which creates some hilarious contrast when working with her partner Vi. Despite her effort to keep Piltover a safe place, Caitlyn still has enemies, one of them being Jinx, who loves to wreak havoc on Piltover and torture Caitlyn and Vi.

Caitlyn has a rich background and there is a lot of depth to her. I was really intrigued by her backstory, early life, and what led her to becoming a sheriff and leader of Piltover. This is one of the many reasons why Caitlyn became appealing to me. Her background stood out to me and drew me in. She seemed different from a lot of other champions in the game.

 

Abilities

Caitlyn can become one of the scariest champions in the game if you are able to take full advantage of her kit properly. She is one of the highest ranged champions in League of Legends, so you are never safe from her attacks, even if you try to keep a distance. Her Piltover Peacemaker attack can travel a surprising distance and she is able to poke you from far away. Caitlyn also some pretty high attack damage, so she definitely hits hard in battle

Her passive, Headshot, stacks and has her attacks deal bonus physical damage. When built with items that have attack speed and/or critical strike chance like Phantom Dancer of Infinity Edge, she can become quite deadly. Caitlyn’s ultimate ability, Ace in the Hole, allows her to hone in on an enemy and shoot a projectile from across the map. When you think you’re safe, Caitlyn can and will catch you by surprise and finish you off, so you better be careful around the Sheriff of Piltover.

 

Imagery

In my opinion, Caitlyn has some of the most beautiful imagery in the game. With so many dark assassin type characters being a part of League of Legends, Caitlyn and her steampunk style look really stood out to me. I mean, what can be better than a sheriff with a badass top hat? When it comes to her hometown of Piltover, I really loved how the citizens such as Caitlyn try to take in as much knowledge as they can and are so interested in fields such as technology and science.

I can relate more to a character like Caitlyn and a city like Piltover than I can to a place like the Shadow Isles, where darker, more sinister characters exist. The imagery of Caitlyn just paints such a beautiful picture of who she is as a character and champion. Piltover also has a unique atmosphere, and I can really relate to the city and its inhabitants, and if I were a character in the game, I could see myself living in a place like that.

 

Caitlyn is a one of a kind champion that stands apart from the pack. She has fascinating lore and an intriguing backstory. Caitlyn can also definitely pack a punch on the Rift and can destroy any evildoers that stand in her way. Plus, her look and appearance really show just how beautiful a champion Caitlyn really is. When it comes to League of Legends, Caitlyn is just an incredible champion, and I hope by reading this article, you have become just as enchanted by her as I am.
