Analysing Fnatic's double AP composition

Fnatic is at it again. They went with a double AP composition versus Alliance in W4D1 of the EU LCS. Fnatic is becoming one of those teams like Gambit that come up with the compositions that break the meta every time they play. I don’t think we’ve ever seen a LeBlanc top lane, but correct me if I’m wrong. 90% of the fans voted for Fnatic to win the game against Alliance, but that’s a given since Fnatic was extremely strong.
Fnatic tried doing something interesting by rushing to Alliance’s red buff while Shook was doing it. That didn’t end up going well for them at all since everyone on the top half of the map responded. Cyanide ended up burning his flash, so a little advantage was given to Alliance for the first 5-6 minutes of the game.
After the little action in the beginning of game, Alliance made the first move against xPeke in the mid lane and picked up a kill with ease, and even picked up Dragon afterwards. Pantheon is a strong jungler right now, which is really weird to say since he was pretty much non-existent in the game until recent changes in the game where he can jump to minions and jungle camps now. Alliance started looking really strong after this kill on xPeke though. Alliance started just going all in on every side of the map and picking up advantages all over. Up to this point, I wasn’t too terribly impressed with the double AP champion picks from Fnatic. It just seemed like Alliance had exponentially more damage than Fnatic could handle at any point in the early-mid portions of the game. Alliance also had ridiculously good map pressure all the time before 20 minutes. Picking on xPeke was a pretty good call since the EU is very mid lane focused. Shutting down the Orianna, and preventing her from getting that massive damage she’s known for. YellowStar also tried making some flashy plays at around 19:20, but that really didn’t go as intended if I had to guess.
By 25:00 minutes into the game, Fnatic was still getting crushed in every skirmish and pseudo-team fight that was started. They could pick up a few kills on the support here and there, but nothing that could get them back in the game. Alliance could just walk up to Fnatic at this point and just completely delete Orianna or LeBlanc from the game. xPeke had a hard time surviving in every team fight up to this point, since he would go from 100 to 0 after Pantheon jumps on him, and Gragas throws his ultimate at him. But that wasn’t something he could help since the engage from Alliance was disgustingly good and they purposely focused the carries every time Alliance went in.
Alliance baited Baron and you can’t even call the fight at Baron a fight. Cyanide just blew up instantly since he was a one-item tank. At this point, Alliance really had to try to lose this game. They had such a massive lead and LeBlanc could not one shot anyone on Alliance like she is intended to do. Alliance could literally throw out two skills and evaporate anyone on Fnatic. On the other side, Fnatic couldn’t kill anyone on Alliance easily, since they had three somewhat tanks. I mean, all you need to be a tank against a double AP team is a Spirit Visage or a Banshee’s Veil. Stopping one of the skills from LeBlanc’s kit makes her useless in a team fight, since she can’t get the silence or CC off that she needs to do.
The engage from Alliance was ridiculous towards the end of the game. Just watching any person from Fnatic get instantly killed was fun to watch. Alliance just seemed on point all game, and they definitely deserved this win against Fnatic. I don’t think Fnatic will be trying this composition again because they just couldn’t survive the burst from Alliance without any sort of tank to soak it up.
A very decisive win by Alliance in the end against Fnatic, which was honestly a huge surpise considering how strong Fnatic looked previously.
