Beware of tunnel vision in LoL

I'll start this off simply, the map is there to be looked at and is there to warn players of incoming threats. This might come off as a bit of a rant to some people but I feel as though this is something that needs to be addressed.
Whilst practising for ranked, and friend and I decided to go and play botlane in a draft match, we decided to play Caitlyn and Leona, myself playing Leona, and we played the game as we usually would. Now the enemy bot lane was much more capable than us and with some well timed ganks from their jungler, managed to take our first tower. Once I had respawned from the gank that secured the tower kill, I went through our jungle and started to ward.
With 2 sight wards and 1 vision ward, I warded around the back of the dragon up to the midlane and went back to botlane to ensure my ADC's survival.
After a bit of time and several missing pings later, we see the message pop up "An ally has been slain" and our midlane Fizz starts to rage. "Where was SS!!!?" fills the chat. We explained the fact that we pinged missing multiple times and the Fizz still rages. "We need more wards" to which our top lane replies, "Then buy some", the Fizz replies with "I am not support I am AP Carry, I don't buy wards". I don't know why but this enraged me, it just seems so stupid that a summoner believes that just because they are not support, they don't have to buy a SINGLE WARD!
Anyway, I decided to take a peek at LoLReplay after the match to see what route the duo botlane took to go and gank our poor defenseless Fizz. This is the route I saw.
As can clearly be seen, the Blitzcrank walks through 2 of the wards that I had placed after the tower had fallen. I believe that Fizz was way too focused on last hitting and didn't look at his map once, the Blitzcrank even had time to line up a perfect hook on this Fizz whilst he was sat on the edge of the vision range of the final ward. This just shows how a little bit of tunnel vision can lead to full scale arguments in the team.
Tunnel vision is the devil. If Fizz had taken a second to look at his map whilst he was over extended, since the first mid lane tower had already fallen, he would have seen this gank coming a mile away and could have acted accordingly. But the tunnel vision made him miss this entirely and caused these arguments.
The entire point of this post is to just try to emphasize the incredibly basic skill of paying attention to the map, especially when over extended. In any other game, with a mid lane that wasn't this focused on last hitting, the gank would have surely failed.
I hope you enjoyed my rant/post and thank you for reading
