RemainingUchiha, Diamond 1 Fiddlesticks Main, Talks About His Strategies
At first glance I didn't think I would find his stream to be anything more than the ordinarily spammed banal ones found on GD. However, when I watched, I was captivated. The consistency of the clutch plays he pulled off with this champion was jaw dropping.
Now, after months of being one of the lucky ~10 to 11 viewers watching per day, I believe I owe it to the community to share my discovery and introduce you to a truly inspiring player. Meet Salim 'RemainingUchiha' Amin!
What intrigued you about Fiddlesticks? What made you decide to play him religiously?
RemainingUchiha: Well, when I first saw League of Legends being played I was at my ex's house watching her brother play the game as Fiddlesticks. I watched him use the champions abilities and saw what amazing potential they had, but he just wasn't using them to their full capabilities. I decided to install the game myself and try out Fiddlesticks on his free week to see what the champion could really do. I was instantly hooked. The three second fear, the sustain with my Drain Life, the bouncing silence; his kit fit my play style perfectly. I've always been a fan of heroes that could disrupt and disable the enemy team.
When you get into lane, what are some of the first things that pop into your mind? What are your top priorities in a game as Fiddlesticks? What do you want to try to do every game to give your team the best chance of winning?
RemainingUchiha: The simplest answer is not dying, that's for sure, but what I like to do is always try to force their jungler to me. My goal is to make sure the enemy begs for the jungle to come to my lane because I will 99% of the time have my lane warded and end up wasting their jungler's time. With Fiddlesticks it's a lot easier to 2v1 people than most other mids because you can drain them to sustain their damage and bait them into grouping up for Dark Wind's maximum CC and damage aptitude.
Another thing I try to take advantage of with Fiddlesticks is as I mentioned earlier, his ability to disrupt a team, especially a perhaps unorganized solo queue team. I like to leave lane when I push my wave to the enemy's turret and create tension for other lanes and give them the anxiety that I might be coming to their lane to gank. Sometimes I will gank a lane, sometimes I won't. I try to remain unpredictable and keep the enemy team guessing. When Fiddlesticks does gank a lane I can almost always guarantee at least one to two kills. Forcing flashes, getting kills, and keeping up insane pressure on every lane makes my presence in each game huge.
So, most people play Fiddlesticks as a jungler. Why do you insist on playing him mid 99% of the time?
RemainingUchiha: Having a Fiddlesticks as a jungler means that the only other option for your team as far as having a tanky initiator is for your top to go tank which will most of the time not happen in solo queue. I like to leave the jungle option open to someone who will play a tank. Even though I'm mid I am still applying as much pressure if not more than I would be playing him jungle. I have the ganks of a jungler and the gold flow of a solo lane.
What are your plans with your gaming career? Do you have certain aspirations?
RemainingUchiha: My plans for my gaming career is to hopefully get somewhere in the pro scene. I'd like to one day get into the LCS as a mid laner and be a well known player. With my positive attitude and skill I feel as though I have what it takes.
There are a lot of people out there trying to better themselves at the game and become top players such as yourself. What are some general words of advice you can give to those players?
RemainingUchiha: Best I can say is always keep your head cool. A lot of games are lost because of arguments. If you stay positive and motivate your team you're more likely to win. With that being said there is still skill involved, so find a champion you like, preferably one that doesn't need a composition based around that kit to work correctly, and keep practicing. Most importantly - always ward. Map coverage does give you an advantage. Never go into a game thinking you're the best. Do not underestimate your opponent.
Cool, thanks for doing the interview. Very interesting responses. Good luck in your future.
RemainingUchiha: Thank you!
