How to Cause Your Opponent Infinite Pain With Teemo

You could play Teemo relying on his attack damage capabilities, but I'm pretty sure you want to have a good time, Summoner. There are a couple ways to play AP Teemo, so I'll lay them out straight for you by talking about what you can build from the ground up.

Although Teemo's W 'Move Quick' allows him to move quickly (pun intended), the little fella needs some boots to catch up to those he's killing mercilessly. Sorcerer's Shoes grant him a large increase in movement speed as well as extra magic penetration, to break through any defenses his prey might have. These boots are a good choice for those who want to hit harder with Teemo's Q 'Blinding Dart' and his R 'Noxious Trap.'

Like all other boots, Ionian boots of Lucidity grant an increase in movement speed. However instead of extra power, they lower the cooldowns of all of Teemo's abilities. This allows him to use his Q and shrooms more often. But watch out early game, just because you have a shroom ready doesn't mean you should use it. Keep a watchful eye on your mana!

Morellonomicon provides Teemos who buy it a hefty 75 ability power. This nifty book also gives the user an extra 12 mana regen and 20% cooldown reduction. When the enemy is below 40% health, dealing magic damage inflicts Grievous Wounds, which reduces healing by 50% for 4 seconds. So wittling them down can dig them into a hole that's tough to heal out of.

Liandry's Torment on Teemo is almost a must buy. It provides 50 ability power, 300 health and 15 magic penetration; but what really makes this item great is its passive. Dealing spell damage through his Q and R, Teemo deals bonus magic damage equal to 2% of the target's current Health per second for 3 seconds. If the target is movement impaired on something like a shroom, it deals double the bonus damage. The extra health is also great to keep the Teemo haters at bay!

As the game progresses, your opponents will probably look to reduce your damage output on them by buying magic resist. Void Staff grants 70 ability power and magic damage dealt ignores 35% of the target's magic resist. On top of that, your magic penetration still applies seperately, so you're liable to punch a sizable hole in their defenses. With the limited selection of magic resist in the shop, anyone caught without magic resist will just be killed that much faster!

ry

Rylai's Crystal Scepter is similar to Liandry's in that it grants 80 ability power, 500 health, but this passive instead slows the target's movement speed by 35% if dealt magic damage by your hand. So as you use your Q or attack with your E active, Teemo slows his prey. When you've got a hit on your enemy, Liandry's Torment deals double damage through its passive as well. These two items in tandem make you a fierce scout that will have your foes fleeing and flashing at the sight of you!

rab

Rabadon's Deathcap has the greatest amount of ability power in the game, with 120 given and 30% increased AP on top of that. Without any other items, runes or masteries, putting Deathcap on his head provides Teemo with 136 flat AP. Coupled with any other items previously listed and you've got a small nuke on your hands in the form of a mushroom.

mala

Malady is an item for use by those who want to utilize Teemo's E, 'Toxic Shot.' If one is patient and uses Teemo's passive Camoflouge, a full 95% extra attack speed is yours to use to destroy your enemies. Malady also gives 25 ability power to help deal damage through his Q, E and R. Coupled with Rylai's, Teemo's prey can do little to escape his constant barrage of pain.

nash

Nashor's tooth provides 65 ability power and 50% extra attack speed, similar to Malady but a greater degree of bang for your buck. Although more expensive than Malady, it gives just what the doctor ordered for an attack speed AP Teemo. It also has a unique passive that helps our swift little buddy have his Q and R fresh and ready to use more often.

malet

Frozen Mallet is not made for AP champions, as it provides 700 health and 30 attack damage. However, if coupled with some attack speed, its passive slows opponents by 30% for 1.5 seconds. If you've got an item like Nashor's or Malady, you're sure to keep up with Teemo's prey and send them to their graves. And the extra attack damage never hurt anybody... technically.

My build of choice:

I like an AP heavy approach when it comes to Teemo. All of the items provide a grand total of 390 ability power, but when the bonus percent of Rabadon's is applied, it totals out to 507 not even counting runes and masteries. Liandry's and Rylai's passives are very compatible, have a lot of utility and the health they provide keeps our good natured scout in the fight longer. Morellonomicon is great for keeping the mana pool up, and supplying me with cooldown reduction needed to create a shroom field of death. Late game I pick up Nashor's Tooth when I need to deal a more continuous stream of damage instead of depending on Teemo's Q and luck of the shroom. With Nashor's I can close gaps in tandem with Rylai's and kite opponents to safety or an ambush. All of these items are sure to give you at least one unintentional kill, so choose wisely and have fun!
