An idea. A strategy. A teamcomp. LVL2.
In the last volume of this article I talked to you about how a tested and solid idea would translate into a teamcomp with less risk and more guaranteed reward. Today I will present you totally the opposite. This is a teamcomp formed straight by guts, an untested and unseen (not that I know off) strategy.
I mean great, innovative, game-changing ideas have to come from somewhere right?.... RIGHT?
Then again, save this for your usual buddies: you don't want to be testing this kind of stuff in the solo "YOLO" queue we see lately, especially with an untested non rage-proof idea (you might get reported).
The Idea "The bladesmen double split push"
As the name says, for this strategy your ingredients are two strong men with blades... who split push. The fundamental of split pushing is a global ultimate (TF, Shen) or a great duelist who can escape from almost anything (Nidalee). So we will focus on that last argument to develop some crazy stuff.
We will use split pushing as our main offensive strategy to manipulate the movement of the enemy team. To do this we certainly need both our swordmen, but there is a paramount feature the rest of our team has to have in order to not lose the game vs a simple 3v5 all in push. STALL.
The Strategy
The last article provided an optional champion for every role except for mid. This time we will skip that since this is an invention of my wicked mind and anyone should mould it as they like.
From top to bottom then!
Top lane: Lets begin the experiment! Teleport Tryndamere! YES! I know he is outclassed by most of the overpowered new and not so new top laners. Lets be honest, S3 gave little to none love to the poor barbarian king. Well if I had to remember a good performance in the competitive scene I would suggest you to look at Alexey "Alex Ich" Ichetovkin's games on him.
As I said, this strategy will rely a lot on your team's ability to stall, mainly to let Tryndamere get farm to get strong enough. Enough for what? When do I know Tryndamere is ready? When Tryndamere is able to kill anyone in the other team in a duel he is ready. I would suggest a glass cannon + Youmuu's Ghostblade into Warmogs build (League of Warmogs anyone?).
Jungle: Master Yi. Yes, he is our second split-pusher. Not the strongest ganker specially since we are going to run him with Teleport too. Even though 4 man counter-Teleport-ganks to the bot lane are a must here and should be a source of kills for your team. The same criteria that applies to Trynd goes to Master Yi. Stall to the late game. Since Yi has a safer escape mechanism than Trynd, he should be ready to go when he is able to kill everyone but the tankiest enemy team member. Again Youmuu's and Warmogs are core.
Middle: Stall we said. Anivia we go! In my opinion she is one of the most broken game changing champions in the league. The wall can force an isolated couple of enemies to flash to safety or the rest of the enemy team to flash forward. There are simply no champions that can force that amount of flashes with one ability (OK, maybe Darius when your whole team is low HP). Her wave-clear late game is seemingly unmatched, and her damage is able to kill carries in one combo. 10 over 10 for our teamcomp.
Support: Zyra! You got to love her, she has it all (Shush Lulu fans!) CC, wave-clear, damage, AOE. With 90 to 100 CS by the late game (See Mitch "Krepo" Voorspoels's Zyra) she should be able, alongside Anivia, to stall the enemy team enough for your split pushers to take at least one tower at a time. For more splitpush potential build a Banner of Command.
AD Carry: At first my plan was to pick Graves because of his great wave-clear, zoning potential, and tankyness. But hey Season 3 is here and it brought us the again broken great Iceborn Gauntlet, making Ezreal king of the kiting zoning and poking in one single item.
The Development
Your team should not get outclassed in the laning phase that hard. Top lane should, but that is to be expected. A lot of Tryndamere play and Teleport ganks should set you in a "not-that-behind" position. Your team-fighting potential in a straight 5v5 should not be terrible either, you have very high base damages in every member except for maybe Ezreal. And it is almost suicide to engage on your team comp, unless the enemy team has godlike initiation.
You WANT the enemy team to engage on you as 5, Anivia wall splits them in half Trynd+Yi+Ez should be able to quickly kill isolated people. If the engage is strong Anivia+Zyra+Ez should be able to kite the engagement until the enemy team is low enough for Trynd and Yi to clean up.
The splitting should go like this:
Enemy team pushes as 5, Anivia+Ez+Zyra+Yi or Trynd clear wave after wave with relative ease. Trynd or Yi pushes a side lane. Enemy team has to send one person to stop him. Trynd should be able to kill anyone so you are fine, keep pushing. Yi should run only if losing hard. If the whole enemy team moves to intercept the split pusher, they should at least lose one tower by that time and the second split pusher should teleport to the opposite lane of where the enemy team is heading.
First pusher teleports back to team and Zyra promotes minion on the lane the first pusher initally pushed. Second pusher takes his tower at most, on the worst case scenario he will die without taking the tower. Its still a tower for a kill. And the super minion is pushing the counter lane so you have the map open to move AS A TEAM now.
In the special case you engage 5v5 under one of your towers and kill a single member of their team, split pushing measures should be taken instantly sending a teleport splitpusher to a side lane and your team should stall AGAIN. If the enemy team chases, repeat the motion explained earlier, they are compelled to do that since leaving the front siege as a 3v4 would be suicide and probably an ace, considering the catchup potential your team has.
Counters:
There are no actual hard counters (Trynd has many though) but what I have done is putting a way too ideal situation in motion. If you think you could make this work, or if you think you can improve it, give it a try. The main goal of this article is to motivate you to put your ideas in motion. Because game-changing ideas have to come from somewhere right?
