Brandon Wilks is currently 17 years old and Parviz Soleymani is 19, they are the tag team duo that fronts the YouTube channel Protatomonster. Both of them put college aside to focus all of their time towards Protatomonster, they want to change the way people think about eSports and gaming in general; hopefully for a better tomorrow.

Words of wisdom from Brandon: “stay in school, if you get an opportunity make sure it's worth it and always be sure to go back to college as soon as you can.”

How did you get started doing the YouTube Top Plays series?

Brandon: Parv and I were always interested in creating a YouTube channel. We spoke about it on a daily basis for months straight just brainstorming ideas for a YouTube channel. We've always been big gamers and wanted to keep our work League based so we could also enjoy what we're doing. We were speaking of many ideas for a YouTube channel and went from everything such as making it like more of a Yoggscast experience until we came upon the idea of making a Top 5 Plays for League of Legends, as at the time no one else was doing one. The idea kind of stuck with us and just about 2 years later we still love doing it and don't picture stopping anytime soon. :D

What do you guys do for the show?

Brandon: I'm Co-owner of Protatomonster and I do a lot of PR, marketing, and much more, though I don’t do the commentary.

Parv: For the most part Brandon and I split almost everything right down the middle when it comes down responsibilities we have with Protatomonster. We look through clips, record them, and meet before the start of every episode to decide on which plays make the cut. Besides that, I would say we do everything the same except that I commentate and Brandon handles the marketing side of things a little bit more than me.

Do you have a personal favorite type of play to watch?

Brandon: I personally am more interested in the juke plays because they represent my play style, always go for the jukes even if you're risking a bad outcome.

Parv: I would describe my favorite play as something that isn't necessarily a pentakill, but also isn't just a short little outplay. It can be a juke, pentakill, or anything really, but I want to be shocked and say "wow" after I'm done watching it.

How did you get into League of Legends?

Brandon: Parv originally showed me the game and after a week of me making fun of him since it was never my type of a game, I gave it a try and fell in love with it immediately.

How did the name Protatomonster come about? Is there any story behind it?

Parv: I originally had the in game name Protatomonster and we agreed that his name is pretty protateriffic so we ended up sticking with the name.

Do you have plans to expand to anything beyond League top 5 plays?

Parv: As of right now, we have big plans that are in the works that will change eSports for League of Legends and eSports in general, forever. The full details and specifics of the website will be released soon and we anticipate it to have a huge impact on the entire League of Legends community.

How long have you guys been working on this project? Can you give us a little background?

Parv: We've been working on this website for around 4 months now and are currently alpha testing it. We have many plans for it; most importantly we would be bringing players to the site for its launch because the site really strives off of how many players are using it. The main plan is to create a competitive community and bring them to a site to help bring a good time not only in general but even in an eSports view. Our plan is to debut the website in 2 weeks, in early February. The site will be in beta although it will be 100% functional, not all the features will be included yet.

Interesting, I’m looking forward to the project. I know you’ve collaborated with Dunkey in the past; do you have any plans to work together in the future?

Brandon: We have ideas for future work with VideoGameDunkey and we're just waiting a bit longer before we can release any plans we had in mind!

Is there anything you can talk about without breaking an NDA, maybe your opinion on season 3?

Brandon: I think the current changes in League are pretty interesting I’m just hoping for balance changes to bruisers. *cough* WARMOGS *cough*

Do you have any shout outs to make?

Brandon: We would mostly like to thank our main stars for helping Protatomonster get to the current position we're at. Special thanks to: Julio Ramirez (Our first graphic designer) Ian Seddon the main coder behind our new website. Sasha Pogon our current graphic designer. Bruno Koch, the designer for our intro's and outro's VFX, Along with our replay reviewers Austin, Chadley, and Ricardo. Thanks for including us in this interview we really appreciate it, I must go now I hear TCBY has Cake Batter ice-cream and ain't nobody got time to miss that.
