Hello everyone, it's Theorie again. This article has been sitting in the back of my mind since the beginning of the holiday break, and even though I tried to write on other topics, I always got a bad feeling, hit save, and came back to this blank page.

The Problem
As I play League of Legends more and more I come to find that I was focusing more and more on ranked. I had the desire in myself to get better, to challenge myself and get to a higher level of play. While there's nothing wrong with this at all, I realized that it had started to interfere with how much fun I had playing the game, to the point where I started to become what everyone in the community would call a "toxic" player. Looking back, I analyzed the events that caused this to happen, and what I should change to fix this.

Analyzing the Problem
So what was the problem? I would be so focused on winning, on climbing up the elo ladder, that I would become infuriated any time someone didn't take a ranked game seriously, or when someone would openly troll the game. It even got to the point where I would rage at people who just made simple mistakes, while not looking at my own performance and realizing I was making mistakes too.

I encourage anyone who honestly wants to get better at this game to stop looking at teammates mistakes and learning from their own, and admitting them to yourself.

Fixing the Problem
I do not believe you can ever progress as a player if you're caught up in pointing out other's mistakes. If your game ends with a loss, look back and see the mistakes you personally made and make an effort to prevent those from happening in the future. Of course a team game will always be decided by the decisions that each player on your team makes, but the other 4's decisions are out of your hands and there's nothing you can do to change that.

What really made the difference in my quest to become a better player was LOLreplay. Sitting back and re-watching my games helped me see what decisions I made that caused a loss of lane, a fight, or the game.

What It Comes Down To
In the end, League of Legends is a game that we all love. I am a huge advocate for people trying to better themselves, but what I realized recently is that having fun is the most important thing about League of Legends, it's why we all started playing it in the first place! I hope these tips will help some of you learn how to correctly improve your skills at the game, while simultaneously continuing to have fun playing the game we all love.

This has been Theorie once again, and as always, thanks for reading!
