Baron control has never been a strong point with me and my friends. We rarely ever decide to take any Baron's, unless we aced the enemy team, simply because we weren't sure of the risk involved of doing baron, if the enemy team is able to respond.

Now that's a perfectly understandable train of though and reasoning, and the amount of extra games you might win by getting a baron or two by, even if the enemy is up might only go up incrementally, but the change is still there. Not only can those win percentages go up, but just getting a general understanding for baron control is something that is another important tool that players should learn.

Baron control, to me, is the ability to have your team initiate baron, regardless of how many enemies are on the field. The best times to initiate baron would be when you see players furthest away from that buff, but that isn't going to fully prevent a team from poking, and aggressing towards you. Along with waiting for an oppurtunity to actually start baron nashor, your best bet of slowing down teams that actually want to engage you under the baron pit is to go ahead and send someone further away from the pit, to poke out some damage, pseudo-cc them, and overall hinder their march towards engaging in a full on team fight.

If the enemy team manages to make it onto your team with little to know damage received, odds are that the team that is still tanking baron is going to lose the fight. That team's best bet is to get as far away from the baron pit as possible, but you still lose damage and potential positioning as your entire team proceeds to maneuver away from the pit, resulting in another probable loss in the team fight, and in most cases Baron Nashor.

In today's video, I try to tackle some of the advantages that can spring up, simply by controlling baron effectively. I talk about the best positions to do so, and also a bit about what champions and roles excel at it the most. There will be another part released later in the series that will go more in-depth simply on the roles that I feel are most effective at slowing down the enemies' advancement. I hope you enjoy the video, and continue to learn and enjoy the series!
