I was able to sit down with CLG.Black's AD carry, Devon "Hoodstomp" Mark, for a quick talk about the recent MLG event as well as his thoughts on the upcomming NA Regional's at PAX this weekend. Hoodstomp began his professional LoL career at Orbit Gaming but later left with fellow teammate LiNk115 to be part of Counter Logic Gaming's second NA team, CLG.Black.
MLG was this past weekend, was it all you expected from and MLG event?
Hoodstomp: Yeah it was a pretty cool event. The playing area had a good amount of space, and I didn't really have any issues with it. Some of the officials were kind of rude when it came to us fixing our settings.. but nothing too bad.
This was your 2nd LAN event. How did it compare with GESL, which was your 1st?
Hoodstomp: GESL was a lot more casual, and there were a bit more issues as far as getting the games started. MLG was pretty professional, and there were a lot more people there.
What were your realistic expectations going into MLG?
Hoodstomp: We expected to atleast take second place. Unfortunately we were knocked out by the team we were the most confident playing against. Just some communication issues.. and versatility issues with our sub's champion pool.
How do you think you played personally, and as a team overall during the event?
Hoodstomp: Not trying to say arrogant, but I think I played amazing pretty much the whole tournament (a lot of people at the event told me this). As a team, I think we played well for most of the gamesl..but not having our main mid, and some people getting frustrated in games caused our ultimate downfall.
So you lost to both Team Dignitas and Team Dynamic to knock you out of the tournament. What do you feel went wrong in those matches?
Hoodstomp: Bad communication is pretty much what lost us both matches. Either our caller making bad calls, or us as a team not fully comitting to the calls he made.
What do you think CLG.B can improve on for your next offline event?
Hoodstomp: We need a lot more practice, that's something we lack a lot. I'm pretty sure we have the least practice out of any professional team. Once we really start to put the time in, i'm confident we will be one of the best teams out there.
What do you see the furture being like for CLG.B?
Hoodstomp: Future is looking bright. I love my team, and I love the CLG organization. We are looking forward to season 3, and are going to start putting in the effort to produce results.

Do you have any thought's on the single elimination structure? Also, do you think teams will be pulling out many 'cheese' strats comming into these games?
Hoodstomp: Yes. I think there will be a lot of cheese strats in this tournament. I don't really know what to think about single elim.. honestly though it is what it is. This is BIG, and if you came prepared you will make it through.
Do you have any shoutouts?
Hoodstomp: Yeah. Shoutouts to our sponsors XMG, own3d, and Razer. Also shoutout to Robert Del Papa the greatest manager in the world. Remember to follow me on twitter @CLG_Hoodstomp.
