Uncommon supports and when to use them.

Supporting is generally overlooked as a role, maybe because being a care bear is frowned upon in most competitive gaming circles, but we don’t have to stick to our the accepted norms of supports, there are unconventional supports that bring different things to your team outside of just warding. Let’s look at three unusual appearances in the support role and their pros and cons.

tf

Twisted Fate

Pros:

 - Low cooldown stun

- Ulti allows for easy gank assists

- Agressive support, no pasivity

- Can be built for damage too, allowing for scary laning opponent

- Can regen mana easily

Cons:

- Squishier than lots of unconventianal supports

- Stun requires timing and they always know its coming

- Can't do damage and GP5

- Doens't synergise too well with support itemisation

TF is a great champ and probably has one of the highest skill celings in the game, he requires good skillshots and good timing. As support he needs very good positioning and good timing, when you compare him to a full support like taric you can see that in terms of late game CC TF wins, as well as damage potential and gank potential, you also have the added bonus of not really needing CV due to Destiny (His ultimate, Not the Player!)

Sejuani

Pros:

- Awesomely Tanky

- Amplifies junglers heavily with Perma-Slow

- Scales very will with items and into late game

- Game changing ulti

- Can go in/Escape very easily

Cons:

- Not agressive at all outside of gank support

- Extremely low damage

- Can quite easily go OOM

- Easy to punish for bad positioning

So, I heard you like slows, so we made a slow that works off another slow. Seriously this girl is a beast of amplification. If you have a jungler who needs that CC (Shyvana/Yi) then this big ol' girl is for you, she does go out of mana pretty easily and is punished for using her charge improperly with heavy harass. Scales amazingly well into late game, with her ult allowing for ganks/teamfights to suddenly swing in your favour, not to mention all the distruption she causes.

mun

Mundo

Pros:

- No mana

- Can harass like a beast right from level 1

- Tanky to borderline unkillable

- Hard to punish for mistakes

- Low item requirements

Cons:

- Doens't scale well with all support items (No mana)

- Only one agressive CC, and its a skillshot

- Needs Items in late game to keep up with other supporty tanks (Nautilus)

- Doesn't help carry much.

If you have a carry who can support himself and you dont mind being that guy who runs headlong into every fight, probably dies, but gets his carry a double kill then give mundo a try, has a nice low CD CC and the ability to tank like no one has ever tanked before. Not to mention having no mana issues to worry about. Remeber though that only the HoG is really any use on mundo, Health regen is usefull but not nearly as good as just stacking warmogs all day.

I think these three can be used to some interesting effect when put bot lane. They might not make the most effective no CS supports but they can make immensely effective kill lanes and monster late game comps
