Close Ups

Here is the headset itself and I would describe it as sleek and contemporary. Other headsets for us gamers may sometimes involve circles, fan grills and all manor of extravagance, while the Wrath is good looking in a ‘girl next door’ kind of way and we all love those! It has a steel core which is exposed when you extend the headset. You may think this makes it heavy compared to other gaming headsets and it is to an extent but it isn’t a hefty feel it is more of a quality feel. There is also more to fit in with the headset being wireless, to be honest for me I like my products to have a little sturdiness to them for when my rage is unleashed!

As you can see on the back of headset you have a power button and volume controls for the audio. On that same side around the front there is a mute button for your mic which comes in useful if you don’t use push to talk. It’s also a button I have never hit by accident so no worries there!

Microphone

Since getting this headset in May this year I haven’t detached the microphone once but it is nice to have the option if I’m chilling in the living room or not in need of the mic for a long period of time. It has a nice flex to it enough to bend the microphone into whatever position you want, for example your enjoying yummy nerd food like Nacho’s push the mic into another position then it bends straight back again when you want it. Below is a sample of what it sounds like to everyone listening to you, no special tricks or editing just using Windows default Sound Recorder.

USB Transmitter

This little dude is for connecting the headset to your PC simply plug him in, install the software and off you go. There is a Connect button on the side just in case you need it.

Charging

This is done using the included cable which is a nice and universal Micro USB. Which also means you can charge from your PC or in the wall and you still have full use of your headset, perfect for long pwning sessions.

Software

This is easy to install and use and can be downloaded here. It has the ability for you to assign a profile for settings which can be saved and exported, check battery status, mute the master volume or microphone, equalizer for better music, voice effects and appearance change. There is pre loaded profiles from a variety of teams and of course one of those teams is us! So I tend to stay on the Team Dignitas profile, to be specific DavidZaccubusTreacy’s.

Performance

Music

I love getting into some classic 80s rock or going really loud with some metal. Got to be honest I’m no sound engineer the way I rate music is a little more traditional, does it immerse me? Does it sound rich? It better not sound tinny! Well I can assure you this headset ticks all those boxes for me. To put it another way it will give better quality sound then most internal speakers.

Games

When at my desk I sit right next to a gamer that enjoys louder games, music, as well as the occasional rage when pugging doesn’t work out. Through this I can crack on with my gameplay while talking on vent without interference. Not at any stage do I feel as though I miss out on in-game sounds.

Comfort

Above I mentioned that the Wrath has a quality weighted feel to it. This helps to keep the headset in place. The cushioning along the top gives you that reassurance that the headset is secure. In the ear pieces it is a nice cushiony feel which takes your ears a little like a memory foam mattress.

Wireless Aspect/Battery

Lets start with range this will all depend on a few things for instance whether your house is made of lead or how many walls you have around you etc. If you live in a modern open plan area then really you will most likely make it quite a distance without interference. For instance with me I can reach upstairs and still enjoy the sounds!

Wireless reliability wise this is the 21st Century and things have changed alot since the old days of random wireless disconnects. As of yet I have had no drops or problems while gaming. I don’t feel restricted by the fact it isn’t wired, in fact quite the opposite I feel better than I did before and more comfortable.

Tactic3D Wrath

For battery I tend to get two nights worth of 4 hours chatting on vent and game play before the headset needs charging which to be honest is better than my phone!
