Five Pop Flashes You Should Know For de_cbble

While still unfamiliar to most, Cobblestone is being seen more frequently in the pro scene and gaining popularity with players. Knowing smokes and flashes can help give your team a big advantage on this map that is not as commonly played or known. Especially useful can be a pop flash, designed to give your opponent the minimal amount of time to look away before the flash pops, resulting in a white screen for your opponent and kills for you. Knowing the right time and place to use these grenades can quickly change a bad situation into an advantageous one and allow you or a teammate to get an uncontested kill. Below are five pop flashes to help you on de_Cbble. There will also be a video with a quick run-through of each flash shown at the bottom.

1. B Main to B Site

  

Left - Stand in the corner in front of the stacked crates.

Right - Place your crosshair slightly to the right of where the arch meets the wall (circled in red) then look up until you reach the bottom of the farthest piece of wood on the ceiling (green line). Throw by holding left and right click and releasing them both at the same time.

Bottom - The grenade should bounce once then pop up and blind anyone looking towards the entrance.

2. B Site to B Plat

 

Left - Stand behind the fountain and look towards B plat at the top of the lower window, throw using left click.

Right - The flash will bounce off the wall and pop above the ledge, blinding anyone running down B main.

Use this to support someone playing on B Plat. Throwing it while a smoke is fading allows a quick peek by your teammate for kills or info.

3. Lower Halls to Drop

 

Left - Stand in this corner behind the glass case with the suit of armor inside.

Right - Aim at the bottom corner of the piece of wall sticking out on the right side of the arch, then run forward a step or two and throw with left click.

Bottom - The grenade bounces off the left side of the wall before coming into vision and blinding the drop area.

It's recommended to use this in combination with at least one other flash from a teammate when taking over this area. Your flash should be thrown second so it blinds anyone who was waiting for a flash to go off before peeking.

4. Mid Room (Water) to CT Ramp

Left - After taking control of this middle room and the staircase next to it, go into the corner pictured. There's an invisible wall that blocks you from getting all the way into the corner, so hold W against the wall until you stop.

Right - Look at the end of the dark horizontal line about halfway up the wall, shown by the arrow. Then, run forward a step or two and throw with left click.

Bottom - Your flash should bounce off the wall and back out the doorway, blinding players looking towards the bottom of CT ramp.

5. Sidewalk Room to A Long

 

Left - After taking control of the area to the right outside this room, stand in the corner pictured.

Right - Start by looking at the end of the nearest post (circled in red) then move your crosshair down to where the second horizontal plank of wood meets the ceiling (marked by the green line)

Bottom - The grenade will bounce off the end of the post and out into Long A. This is a spot typically played by CT's (AWPers especially) after losing control of the sidewalk room.
