Unorthodox CT Tactics for Inferno

In this guide I'm going to be teaching you some unorthodox tactics you can use on the CT side of the map Inferno, so let's get right into it!

Sandbag Surprise
The first method I'm going to talk about was introduced to me somewhat recently, and it has worked countless times ever since. The method requires you to get 2 of your B players to stand behind Sandbags, one of you needs to be completely hidden, and one of you needs to be visible to the other team. When the enemy team push Banana, the player peeking sandbags will call this out to his team, try to get some kills (or at the very least deal some damage) and then his job is done. The player behind the Sandbags remains hidden, and unless you are going against an enemy that checks every corner, they should see the site is vulnerable and move straight towards it. At this point your team are most likely at CT or flanking them, which means this is your chance to spray them down from behind. Using this method I typically get anywhere from 1-3 kills as they enter the site, you can incorporate a flashbang into this and possibly take out the whole team.
Tips for this method;
- Let the player that is peeking Sandbags play with a pistol. Unless your teammates elsewhere on the map are exchanging gunfire, they may presume you are on an eco or a force buy, which will make them more aggressive. If the player behind the Sandbags has a weapon, he can use this to his advantage to deal massive damage.
- If the entire team pushes Banana at once, more than likely one of them is going to check sandbags on his way to the site, at this point you may just want to try and get a pick or two to help your team out.
- The player behind Sandbags should always be facing an angle where he can engage the enemy at any time, just in case the strategy doesn't work.
- This strategy is only good for one round (maybe two if you're lucky) so choose when you use it carefully.

Killer Crossfire
This method also requires 2 players that are playing B, but this time you're going to be setting up a crossfire that I never see get used to its full potential. This method requires you to set up one guy in Porch (preferably with a rifle) and one guy beside the barrels near 1st Box (so you are stood on the wall, facing your teammate at Porch. I highly recommend you use a shotgun). You and your teammate wait here, and get info for your team, once you hear steps, throw a smoke to try and partially hide you both, let the enemy waste their grenades, then they will be forced to push. At this point there a few different things you can do;
- The guy with the shotgun can go for a couple of picks, while his teammate remains hidden, allowing him to clear up as much of the enemy team as he can as they continue to push
- You can let the enemies push further into the site and then both begin shooting at the same time from behind, forcing them to engage 2 targets at once
- Shoot them instantly as they push, which could deter them/force them back and give your team some time to alter their positions and box the enemy in
This method is risky because you're both playing in 'One and Done' spots, but even if the enemy spots you, it's highly unlikely they will spot both of you. This means if one of you dies, the other will be there to secure an almost guarenteed trade kill. Josh 'Steel' Nissan made a great video explaining One and Done spots, I highly recommend you check it out here.

Apartment Assault
This method works great for force buys and eco rounds. Instead of doing the typical 'Rush B' or 'Rush Mid', we're going to be catching our enemy off guard. Get 4 of your teammates to rush apartments by jumping up on Truck Side (to avoid being seen by Terrorists at Middle), and have 1 guy stock up on grenades and head B to try and hold the enemy off as long as possible. Once you get through apartments, you can either sneak through Underpass, rush out through Middle (at an angle they most likely won't be holding) or head through T and try to flank them from behind. Try not to make too much noise when you're doing it, otherwise they will know what you're up to. Another way of doing this method is to send two guys to B instead of one. When the players that are rushing engage the enemy, your teammates playing on B can use the remainder of their grenades to head down Banana and assist you. Even if you don't win the round, you can do some serious economic damage to the other team, and maybe you can snag a couple of weapons too.
Those are just 3 of the methods I have that will catch your enemies off guard and hopefully help you win some rounds. Remember your enemy will be more cautious of these methods after the first time you use them, so be careful when trying to use them multiple times in the same game. Good Luck!
