How to set up a proper default strategy for your team on the Terrorist side of Dust 2

Do you ever feel frustrated when your team isn’t coordinated or attacking sites together? If so, this post will break down the proper way to attack a bomb site and identify which site will give you the best chance of winning the gun round on de_dust 2. A common mistake amongst low elo players is either to rush a bomb site or to camp around the map until someone peaks. Although rushing can work, it’s better to attempt a rush when you feel like it will catch the opposing team off guard. Using this strategy when you queue with friends will help you win more games when executed properly.

The trick is to spread out your players, gather as much information as you can, and probe the map.
Say, for example, that you have identified that the enemy team are playing 1 B site, 1 ct spawn, and 1 double doors mid. Player 3 can bank a smoke off the left wall to smoke out the ct spawn player, while number 2 pop flashes himself in to get a frag on the mid player or, more than likely, their awper. Once you’ve got the opening pick on the middle counter-terrorist player, you’ll want player 5 to cut off rotators once you split the B site. He will push down into mid by the double doors or lower tunnels, depending on the player’s preference.
Having 3 players in mid can be important for middle control on dust_2 and it’s an extremely powerful position for the Terrorist side. It will allow you to get a lot more information when it comes time to rotate and help you pinpoint the positions of the ct’s on the map. Once your team executes the split, players 3 and 4 will want to push into mid to flank the lone B player, while player 1 and 2 will flash and push out B tunnels. The execute should look like this:

That is a standard mid B split. You can also attack the A bombsite from the previous positions, but it’s all based on the communication and information your team has gathered.
Let’s rewind a bit and say that your team has identified that the counter-terrorists are playing 2 B, 1 mid, and 2 A. In this scenario, players 5 and 4 will want to execute on long with a pop flash and push around and into pit. At the same time, players 2 and 3 should execute on to catwalk, while player 1 watches for a flank or rotates to the A site. Player 1 can also smoke off ct spawn and cut off three of the ct’s from the A site, while the rest of your team attacks the site.

There are a bunch of different default set-ups that can work on de_dust 2 but the majority of them require mid control. For example, a good way to switch it up is to take 2 players long A instead of 3 in mid. But I won’t break down other variations today; I’ll leave that for another article.
If this strategy is executed properly, it will drastically improve your chances of winning the gun rounds and forcing eco’s. That will lead to stellar T halfs and it will help your team/pug improve and rank up.
