Ever wondered why you’re not able to score rounds on T side Inferno? Or maybe you’re struggling to get kills when trying to push onto a site? I can probably guess that's due to not having any smokes or strats when pushing. In this guide, I show you a simple T side strat for pushing onto the A site with a smoke guide to accompany it. This is ideal to use as a default and when you have the economy to buy all the required smokes/nades. That’s enough talking for now, let’s get into it!
Strategy Overview –
Player 1) Watches banana for a rotator or someone attempting to push
Player 2) Sits either middle or second mid, smokes off the left side and then flashes the right
Player 3) Goes through second mid and smokes off arch way
Player 4) Also goes through second mid to smoke off pit
Player 5) Lurks in apartments and clears boiler and balcony/pit
In depth Player Positions –
Player 1 ) Player 1 undoubtedly has the easiest job in this setup as his main goal is to sit close to banana and catch out any rotators. The main positions to hold are either at wood and wait until someone decides to poke or sit at T stairs and play as a lurker for mid and banana. If you’re feeling adventurous you could even push up to car but DON’T peak as the CT’s won’t expect you there when the bomb gets planted at A.
Player 2) As a middle player, your job is to smoke off the left side of mid to ensure the rest of the team is able to cross through the right safely. Once this smoke is thrown, the two other teammates should throw theirs as well, making an unbeatable wall until the plant goes down. When your teammates begin to push, throw a flash onto the right side of mid to make any defense from the CT’s useless.
Player 3) Rushes up together with player 4 and possibly player 2 and gets ready to smoke off arch way. This smoke is fairly quick to do and tricks the opposing team into thinking you’re trying to go around through arch side when in fact you would be going through truck side. This smoke should be thrown slightly after player two throws his. Once your smoke is thrown start to proceed onto the A site through middle, checking that there isn’t anybody sitting near boiler or patio. You can also nade pit and flash onto the site dealing some damage to anyone who is trying to peak and adding another layer of protection to your teammates trying to get onto the site.
Player 4) Goes along with player three and covers the other two players. Once the other two smokes are thrown and your team begins to push onto the A site, you will throw your smoke. This cuts off visibility to pit and aids in allowing your team to get onto the site. Just like player three, you can also use some flashes and nades to clear graveyard and library.
Player 5) Just like our first teammate, player 5 lurks in apartments and makes sure boiler and balcony is clear. If need be, he can push out of boiler and join up with the rest of the team or sit at balcony and watch over pit and arches.
Smoke Tutorial –
Archway Smoke -
The first smoke I’ll show you is used for player three to smoke off archway. First off, you’re going to want to find the clothesline shadow near the hay bales at second mid.

Once you’ve found this shadow, position yourself so you’re standing on top of it and face the giant bell tower in the middle of the map. Line up your crosshair with the right side of the ledge above the bell and this should be the perfect position to throw it. If you’re using the classic viewmodel you can accurately line it up by positioning your index finger to curl over the first ledge and the thumb slightly under it.
With this smoke being thrown it should cover all of archway if thrown correctly.
Pit –
Once again, just like the archway smoke, we want to position ourselves up to the clothesline shadow and stand on top of it.
The only difference this time is that we’re facing towards apartments and not the bell tower. Move your crosshair up the window gap until your thumb lines up with underneath the window seal and throw your smoke.
Mid -
The mid smoke is by far the easiest and can be thrown from a multitude of places.
The easiest place to throw it is from second mid however you can also do it from T stairs and there isn't really a set position to throw it from, however my favourite position is from second mid. Lineup your crosshair with the top of the chimney as shown below and simply release the smoke. You don't have to be precise as it will most likely land correctly most of the time.
