How To Efficiently Improve Your Aim in CS:GO

There are quite a few different methods to practice your aim in CS:GO. Some player favorites are deathmatching, 1v1 situations, and my favorite, aim training maps! This article will show you a few different ways to improve your aim, making you a better player in general.

1) Aim Training Maps

These maps are great for beginner players who are still learning each gun’s characteristics. They include, but are not limited to, classic aim training, angles and sliding, reflex training, burst training, and intensive fast aiming. These maps are usually very versatile in the means of options. In the map I use, every gun from the game is available and from the options for each mode are very editable. You can even change the target you fire at to an enemy’s head! Down below is a video on how to setup one of these aim training maps.

2) Deathmatch Servers

Another one of my favorites. I think deathmatching is a great way to both practice your aim, and see how it compares to other players as well. Not only will you be practicing your aim, but you will usually be in a match where players are quite a bit better than you. This means that you may have a hard time killing players at first, but it pays off when you train yourself to kill them. Many players make the mistake of playing on Valve deathmatch servers. That’s alright for just starting out, but I HIGHLY recommend you browse community servers for better servers with better players. Some of my favorite servers to deathmatch on are thefragshack servers. They are 128 tick, have good hit registration and have a variety of players each day.

3) 1v1 Situation Servers
When a friend first introduced me to this gamemode, I saw it to be completely pointless because I believed it wouldn’t teach you anything! I was most definitely wrong. Some of these maps have situational sections of maps where you can practice your aim and your game sense. On a few of these servers I’ve been on, they cut a section of de_dust2’s mid, cat, and a section of A platform. This is great for practicing a 1v1 situatuon on cat.

Overall, all 3 of of these methods should help you become a better CS:GO player. Not all of these methods will make you Global Elite right off the bat, but with a bit of hard work and some time set aside for practicing each day, I have no doubt that any of you couldn’t be. Practice makes perfect!
