Unraveling de_mirage #3 - Multiple Ways to Execute B

A executes on de_mirage are pretty common and everyone knows how to do them. On the other side, B executes aren't that popular or easy to perform, as most of the time you either do a B Rush or a B Contact. In this guide, we will demonstrate a set of strategies that you can use if you want to attack B successfully.

As shown in the previous guide, you will need a Jumpthrow Bind to do some of this smokes so if you don't know what this is check the "Unraveling de_mirage #2 - Multiple Ways to Execute A" guide.

Without further delay, let's get right into the gameplay!

 Short Smokes Execute 

• 1 Molotov: The standard molotov that burns the Van area and makes it impossible for a player to stand there;
• 2 Smokes: Both of them to the Pilar/Edward area, one to the left of the pillar and the other to the right covering the entirety of Short;
• Couple Flashes: Some flashes to blind the CT players over the bombsite are always good to prevent them from killing you right away.

Advantages and goals of executing this tactic:

• It isolates the B Short player, preventing him from helping his teammate(s) and from killing your teammates;
• It allows your team to focus only in one side of the bombsite, making it easier to take.

Let's hop right into the players' POVs and explanations.

1st Smoke Player: This will be one of the players that will use his smoke on Short. He will go straight to B Apartments and align his smoke as shown in the video below. Afterwards, he will proceed to the bombsite ready to trade kills with the Entry Fragger.

2nd Smoke Player: The second player using his smoke will do practically the same as the player above, except that his smoke will be on the other side, with a different lineup.

Entry Fragger: This player's role is the definition of being an Entry Fragger. He will be the first one to enter the site by jumping from the Aps window and will try to kill somebody but, more importantly, he will create space for the team to progress and take the site.

2nd Entry Player: This player will be responsible for trading kills with the Entry Fragger and make sure that the team can kill the CT players and progress to the site without problems. After the team takes the site, it's his job to secure pushes from B Short or Market so the CTs can't catch the team by surprise.

AWP Player: Last but not least, we have a role that is ideally performed by the AWPer of the team. This player will be holding Underpass pushes from CTs and then will flash twice for the teammates to enter the site. After the team gets the bomb plant and secures the site, he watches CTs crossing Market Window to get some frags.

Right Side Execute

As in the previous strategy, this one will also have the bombsite cut in half but this time the right side will be smoked off instead of the left side so for this tactic you will need:

• 1 molotov: Same molotov as before, used to make CTs unable to stand around Van;
• 2 smokes: One smoke that covers the Bench/Forest area and another one to cover off the middle of the bombsite;
• Couple Flashes: There are never too much flashes when entering a site, unless they blind your teammates of course, but in this specific case is always good to throw some flashes over the B Aps and to the Pilar/Edward area since you don't really have to worry about the right side of the bombsite.

On to the POVs we go!

1st Smoke Player: As before, this player role is to smoke one of the spots mentioned above, he goes straight to B Aps and, in this case, does the Bench/Forest smoke as shown in the video below.

2nd Smoke Player: Keeping it nice, simple and similar to the first one, this player just has to smoke the Mid Site area and enter with the team after the flashes pop.

Entry Fragger, 2nd Entry, and AWP Player: These three players will have the same roles as in the previous tactic except for the Entry Fragger that, instead of looking to the right and clearing the right side of the site, will now look Short and clear the B Short area.

Bombsite Closing

Being able to execute this strategy requires that four of your teammates (you can or not be included) have smokes. You will need the knowledge of the above tactics because you will practically close the bombsite with smokes as you will do the two B Short smokes and the 2 Right Side smokes together in this tactic. The benefit of having this strategy in your playbook is that you can practically close out the bombsite, which makes it easier for the Ts to enter and get the bomb plant.

Bonus: Let's imagine a scenario where your team's economy is low, and you don't have enough money to bring smokes, flashes, and molotovs but you still want to attack the B Bombsite. One thing you can do is a B Contact play. A B Contact is nothing more than having your entire team together in B Aps, progressing always walking holding the SHIFT key until the enemy CT can see a player from your team. When the contact is made, one of your teammates throws a flashbang and you go from a Contact walking play to a Rush. Have in mind that you should only move on to the Rush part of the play when an enemy spots someone in your team as they will be blind and you will have time to run and catch them off-guard and by surprise.

Conclusion

Although the B bombsite on de_mirage is more closed than the A bombsite and the options you have to execute on to this site are a little limited, you have some easy to perform and effective strategies that you can apply in your game in order to attack B properly and successfully.
