Cache is a very interesting and dynamic map. The amount of approaches a Terrorist can approach a bombsite is a lot, which is why I will run through set-ups to hopefully counter them and improve your Cache game. Also, Cache has a lot of opportunities to set up crossfires in many places around the map. Counter-Terrorists can also play very unexpected and go for unorthodox pushes or a simple counter-boost in mid. Both teams have many ways to gain map control and information. This makes Cache a very exciting map and which is why I will cover some set-ups on it.

The Retake A Setup

If you have a read on the enemy team or you're having a wild guess that they will go A, the retake A is a good set-up to allow you and your team to give the A site to the Terrorists while still being able to take fights and fall off eventually to execute the retake. For this, you will need to place 1 player on the truck in CT. Then place 3 players mid/highway ready to rotate and have 1 person on B playing from CT. All of these positions will allow for quick rotates and counter-flashes to slow the incoming Terrorist push. This set-up will look like your typical 1-3-1 setup to hold off a push in Middle, however it can also be used to retake A. When the execute occurs, you'll all usually be probably smoked off but once you execute the retake make sure you use all the utility that you have effectively and throw counter-flashes and incendiary grenades to make the retake easier.

Effective Mid Setup

This set-up is a very simple set-up and is effective. Only do this if you have a potential read or if they are abusing the middle area of the map a lot. Each player in this set-up utilizes a crossfire and ensures you can trade your teammates. You have to place on player at whitebox, one in Z connector and one in vents. This set-up covers most situations you'll face while holding middle, so this is a great set-up to counter most pushes.  The purpose of having the guy in vents is to watch the left side of the middle garage/main and help the guy on B if needed. The one at whitebox watches the right, while the person in connector will usually have an AWP and watch the boost and molly it. This set-up allows you to spot each angle and allows fast rotates to either site. If a Terrorist also walks off boost and the person in connector has to fall off, the person in vents, if they need to, can peek the person boost and kill him/her. You can even double peek boost with the guy on whitebox. If a Terrorist tries to push vents while the person in vents is helping B, the person whitebox kills him/her. The only flaw to this set-up is that it can easily be neutralised by cross smokes on mid. Those isolate the two Counter-Terrorists on Z and whitebox, meaning the person in vents has to battle alone. Other than that, this set-up is perfect if you keep losing mid control and it is losing you rounds.

The Typical A Set-Up

This A set-up like any other set-up I go through, utilizing crossfires and positioning. A lot of you know probably know how to set up on A but there is a lot of variation to the set-up itself. For this set-up you will have a player sitting in the corner on A-site usually called 'NBK' and one playing the default plant spot on site. Then you will also need to have a player on the CT truck, preferably an AWPer but a rifle will do the job just fine. Now the reason you have two playing so close to each other on site is due to the fact that you can also communicate to double-peek the incoming enemies or simply just trade and maybe take an enemy by surprise. However, these spots are obvious and it's hard to stay in one place on A when an execute comes through as you are constantly going to have to move due to mollies and flashes. However, this is good for the early part of the execution. The guy at truck just covers forklift so the players on site can't be flanked from behind. If you do want a player at forklift you can have the person on highway/middle rotate to forklift if needed and they can also check on squeaky. Remember, these setups can vary and you can change how you hold the site, just make sure you are establishing crossfires!

The Typical B Set-Up

B site is a very difficult site to hold once the execute comes in, as you'll usually be mollied off your usual position and flashed off to be rendered useless. However, good positioning and movement can allow you to get a couple of kills before going down. Teams usually place two players on B so this set-up consists of the those two. For this you'll also be using the person in vents. You place one player in checkers and one at the headshot angle on site and one in vents. The reason being, is because the person at headshot can spot the players running by or listen for them if he decides to move closer to B main. Then as soon as the incoming Terrorists run onto site or checkers, the players playing vents and checkers can establish a crossfire and trade frags and help the person on site if possible. This set-up pretty much allows each person on B to be helped by a teammate and be traded when dead. However, most teams will molly checkers and flash over so make sure you are ready and have good communication to hold off the push!

Hopefully these set-ups will help you strengthen your CT side on Cache. Even though some of these set-ups may seem basic and obvious, they do work and they are good to build a sort of default set-up. You can vary as you go as Cache has bomb-sites that allow multiple different ways of holding them. So make sure you vary your positions, set-up crossfires, trade frag and communicate. These are all key elements to holding sites and middle on Cache. Good luck!
