Team Dignitas’ HGC Preview: Week 8

Wed 6th Sep 2017 - 11:07pm

Last weekend Team Dignitas had great results, earning themselves a 3-0 against Team Good Guys and getting another tough win against Team expert with a 3-2. Having beat Team expert puts Team Dignitas in a more comfortable position, sitting pretty in 2nd with a 7-4 W-L.

As we get closer to the end of the season, Team Dignitas will be looking to clean up their score and maintain their position to ensure they get the 2nd auto-qualification to BlizzCon in November. This weekend they face Zealots, a team who has lately been able to upset some of the top teams in EU. They beat Team Liquid in a surprising 3-0 series that pushed them to 4th in the standings, making them direct competition for Team Dignitas. No team should be underestimated, as Europe is making the case for having some of the strongest and closest ranking teams in HGC.

Team Dignitas vs. Zealots - Saturday, September 9th at 11:00 am PDT / 8:00 pm CEST

In this second part of Phase 2, Zealots seem to be finding their footing as a newer HGC team coming from the Open Division's Crucible. They can now be considered a team to be wary of, as they have the potential to surprise any team and take the wins. Team Dignitas will need to focus on controlling the draft to get their favoured picks so that they won’t be caught off guard by Zealots during any of the games.

A really important aspect to this will be the solo-laner players, Kenn “Zaelia” Rasmussen and Matic “Zarmony” Mikec. As highlighted previously, the solo-lane has to keep check of not only winning their lane but making sure they can rotate for team fights and battleground objectives. Dehaka is still the hero that reigns supreme in the solo-lane, often warranting a first-pick or first-ban from many teams. Both Zaelia and Zarmony have an affinity for Sonya, but it may be more likely we see Zaelia on Arthas as a second option if Dehaka is unavailable. Of course, there is always the surprise Illidan that can make his way into the draft, or even Malthael to ensure a win in the solo lane.

Come hang out this Saturday and cheer on the boys as they take on Zealots. The team really feeds off all the amazing support from the fans, so be sure to cheer in the HGC chat and on Twitter too. A win here will push Team Dignitas even closer to BlizzCon! Let's get cheering! #DIGWIN
